If that's the case what does "So right now I am transferring all the data from my other website Fulltime Reviews to this website." mean?
Hmmm... maybe I should keep that line there. People might start wondering what the hell the webmaster, me, is talking about when saying "Fulltime Reviews" and follow the link, lol.
LOL What's R10?

I take it "Artsmagic" are a German Asian distributor?
I don't even think that there is R7 - R9, is there? I have heard that R10 is used on travelling airplanes and ships. Might be wrong though. I wrote "R0 - R10" to ensure that all DVD talk, no matter what region goes in there, lol. Shall I re-title that forum?
I imagine virtually no one looks at full time reviews (in the scale you'd prefer) is because of the basic look of the site. Your HKL website looks more professional. My own website looks amateurish but that's fine as it's only intended as a resource to display information about me nothing more.
You know, I think the fact that your statement's right is sad. People prefer style over substance (which is why certain films work at the box office and others don't). I honestly prefer the content of a site (as long as the font size of a longer text isn't 1 or 60). Because I noticed I am in a large minority with this opinion, I started top learn PHP, MySQL and PostNuke to build my new layout and database.
As for your site... I have been there recently and I envy you for your trips to all these wonderful places, especially China, Thailand and Malaysia. I haven't read all your journals, but is there one for Malaysia? I'd love to read your impressions.
By the way... signed your guestbook.
It sounds like you've known Bey for a while?
Through emails since uuuuhmmm... like the beginning of 2002. By phone calls since sometime in the Summer of 2003 and personally since October 2004. Great guy, not only in the commentaries, he he he.
You may want to transfer your articles to HKL.de. I mention this as it's a real shame more people don't read them.
Well, the thing is that the PostNuke styled site is most ideal for news, like new DVDs, new films etc etc. Posting old stuff there won't make anybody look for it as the articles are displayed by the date they were posted. Look at the HKL DVD reviews. The lower you scroll, the less does the number of reads get.
Thanks for your concern, though. Very much appreciated.
Going by experience people's knowledge of a second language is weaker on the written word and with this in mind you must be cracking at speaking it, no?
I always found myself better in writing, because I am more trained in writing than I am in talking. When I go to a country where I have to speak nothing else than English, then it usually takes about 2 - 3 days before I talk fluently. While during writing, you can always think about the right vocabulary to use.
I went to an English school when I lived in Jordan. This improved my English a lot. I suck at science stuff, like maths or physics, but can adapt languages quite well. As for now, I speak and read fluently: German, Arabic, English and a bit of French. And I am currently studying Mandarin and Chinese writing. I love to learn languages.
The articles are much better written than many articles from English speakers!
Oh come on, lol! I doubt that. My old English teacher should read that comment! Maybe he would have given me a B instead of an E in my "Scarface"-homework. He he he!
When I quickly write a review on one day, then I think it turns out average language-wise. As for the long articles, I sometimes spend a week to get it right. I let someone else read over it etc etc. It's like movie magic. Jackie Chan can't catch the turning fan the first time. He has to do many re-shots, he he!
Off topic I'm curious you seem to write your articles from a British perspective quoting the BBFC but not mentioning your own film censors, why?
My first sites were in German as you might know (the Jackie Chan Center etc). These sites had even less visitors, which was actually the reason why I decided to write my new sites in international English. I think I mention the BBFC in a few articles, but also mention German censorship sometimes. IIRC, the first time I quote the BBFC in an article of mine is when writing about "Snake in the Eagle's Shadow". You know the cat vs. snake fight. As I pointed out earlier, whenever I decide to conduct an article for the "A Close Look at..."-section, I try to gather as much information as possible. Back then, I knew about that BBFC cut, due to the HKL DVD, but there were other films where I didn't know about what the BBFC had cut out. But then there was the original BnB-forum with all its wonderful members, discussing all the cuts. A lot of the films I love to watch do not get released over here and hence my only choice was to import them from the UK. After paying very high prices for these films, it was always a pain to find out that some of them were cut.
As for the very detailed BBFC stuff, Bey provided me mostly with info of whom at the BBFC cut what scene etc etc, lol. That was funny, because then their website did not exist and when it went online, I went their to check everything and the man was absolutely correct!
p.s - You never got back to me re: my website
