Doesn't that take forever? Why bother btw? Most of it is small talk.

Hey,

Heres the latest from HKL in the 26th May update:

LATEST NEWS
Fist of Fury Extras
We are currently working on our Fist of Fury Platinum Edition due for release 15th August. we are happy to tell you that you can expect the following great extras:

Hi-Definition DVD Transfer
Animated photo gallery featuring never-before-seen photographs from the Lee Family Private Collection
Exclusive interactive tour of the real-life Jing Woo-mun School in Shanghai
An exclusive series of revealing interviews with Bruce Lee confidantes and friends, including personal photographer Linda Palmer, and hairdresser, Joe Torreneuva
'Behind the art of Jeet Kune Do' with Sifu Dan Inosanto and top Hollywood Stunt coordinator, Jeff Imada
An exclusive interview with leading-lady and close personal friend, Nora Miao (who has spoken about Bruce Lee since 1978)
*All correct at time of going to press

HD Transfer? Cool. :D Surely there'll be more extras than that? Bey Logan comm (probably the same one)? Trailers etc? I also liked the cool menus on the original release.
Don't forget MANDARIN! :D MANDARIN!

Then I'll definitely upgrade.
Mark (and others) did you e-mail them?
I did but no reply.

LOL I'm sure they mean "hasn't" :D

Grim I suspect those are just the new extras and we have no idea how long they are.

I'll be getting this purely for the HD tranfer BUT will the Cantonese DD5.1 be messed up??? I'll keep my current DVD to do a side by side comparison.

Just in case.

I await the new Bruce Lee Box set from HKL

Hmm. I'll keep my current dvd for now too, youre right Brad it'll be interesting to see what audio tracks they have. The original DVD had Cantonese Stereo (I think).

Nope - Cantonese DD5.1.

Only TBB has DD2.0!

It would be sweet if TBB got a PE and they did a new box set. Not that I'd buy it :D

I'm sure Fist had 2.0! Basically souped up Mono. If it was 5.1 they downplayed the foley effects greatly (they did that with many Media Asia 5.1 tracks).
Ask Mark, he knows ;)

by bradavon
NOPE definitely DD5.1. I have it! Like I said only TBB has DD2.0. NOT all 5.1 remixes have new foley effects!

I don't need to ask Mark thanks.

I have it as well and I'm sure its 2.0! :D

by Killer Meteor
I have it and it's 5.1 for both tracks

Grim you are such a doofus sometimes.

Instead of arguing (in the nicest possible) why didn't you just pick the DVD up and have a look? or better yet believe me?

Did it need someone backing me up? :x  :D

by grim_tales
:D All right, it said 5.1 audio yes, I thought perhaps that was only for the english dub.

I wonder if this edition of FoF will have a special carboard cover like GoD or just plain like WoTD.

Anyone got a reply about the Mandarin yet? :D

I believe they no longer produce slip-cases :(

Posted: 29 May 2005, 16:26
by romerojpg
Nope,. which is a shame for once as it did make some of the platimun editions feel more quality than the average dvd.

Posted: 29 May 2005, 17:21
by Markgway
Yeah, slip cases are obviously far too expensive to maintain....
