I heard it (well, most of it). It's shit. Why does Arnie now use a silencer on the 5.1 remix when he meets the "wrong" Sarah?

The shit audio is why I sold my dvd long ago.

He doesn't use a silencer, you can see the gun doesn't have one. Doesn't the whole scene go silent as she gets shot? Or is there gunfire on the Mono track?

Sadly I imagine you guys will be hanging on to your R1 or R3 DVDs for sometime to come.

There's gunfire on the mono track I'm sure. I know he doesnt "use" a silencer but I'm sure that the mono gunfire is replaced with the sound of a silencer in 5.1 and it just feels wrong.

I still have the R2 edition that my late Gran bought me for Christmas. Was the 2nd DVD I received after TWOTD HKL.

I can understand why you wouldn't want to be getting rid of it then.

The mono track has regular gunfire. They changed it for the remix.

Cheers. It's been so long since I've heard it unremixed I cannot remember. It works great on the remix, most affective.

Best Terminator still is the image 4/3 disc (sadly), the HD remaster suffers from burned whites. I had that Blu-Ray I sold it, it look really not an improvement over the SE.

The word is "effective" and its not. It sounds like a stapler and is very anachronistic to the movie

How is it anachronistic exactly?

The film is set in 1984 and the gun is bought then used in the same year, but I guess you're more intelligence than me.

And yes, I do.

On a 108" screen, you can tell that you're not watching a DVD.
Some of the wide shots are quite sharp and the film looks good most of the time.
But there's still a serious lack of fine detail and an over-abundance of specks, dirt and scratches.

I wouldn't recommend upgrading unless your projection screen is (at least) as big as mine.

Their comparison shows a bigger difference than mine.

Yeah the R2J UE is bound to have a higher bitrate. I'm sure it has no Mono though. My god the difference in details is so minor and the USA BD is redder.
