No, it was one film, downy.

The thing is with this Grindhouse project it started out as 2 films in one each 60 minutes long, but thats all went out of the window now as hell the 1st part alone is apprently near 2 hours! so it does at the moment look like both sections will be getting seperate releases

unless its well over 3 hours + but the chances of that are slim.

You know what I mean

Ist half - a Tarantino road movie, 2nd half - a Rodriguez splatter flick

It was like 2 different films 8)

EvaUnit02 · Post by **EvaUnit02** » 14 Oct 2006, 08:33

Rodriguez directed both halves.

I know, but they still have different tones.

Eva knows fine what you meant - he's just being a dick.

Fair enough.

EvaUnit02 · Post by **EvaUnit02** » 15 Oct 2006, 14:53

Finally got around to watching the trailer, shit this film looks like loads of fun. Makes you wish that Rodriguez would make films like this more often rather than kiddy crap like Spy Kids and Shark Boy & Lava Girl.

brooce-leroy · Post by **brooce-leroy** » 23 Dec 2006, 01:02

romerojpg · Post by **romerojpg** » 23 Dec 2006, 19:28

No choice with most so I watch the BIG ones, as hell no way to avoid them when they are in cinamas, or on flipping TV every 15 minuts! grrrrr

Simon Pegg is doing a mock trailer between the features, as well as Retard Roth and Rob Zombie.

Some caps from the Death Proof dvd

Markgway · Post by **Markgway** » 11 Sep 2007, 22:22

Yeah, I can't imagine why mainstream America didn't want to go see a beat up film that looks like it was made in 1974 and played in theatres which smelt of cum.

bradavon · Post by **bradavon** » 16 Sep 2007, 23:12

I love the beat up look. The fact is though most people will not, in fact film fans aside no one will get it period. I'm definitely seeing this next w/e. I kind of wish I'd bothered to see it a few weeks back now when QT was on a satellite link afterwards.

Here is an R1 review: http://www.dvdactive.com/reviews/dvd/death-proof.html

I guess I'll have to buy the R1 DVD with no UK release date to speak of.

I can see a few years down the line an obscure DVD being released with all those marks removed and for once we'll be complaining they actually removed them

p.s - Hey Salty isn't there an HD release at all?

romerojpg · Post by **romerojpg** » 16 Sep 2007, 23:18

No HD coming, yet. Only Germans has said its coming, to HD DVD. Apart from that not a word, the Weinsteins can suck my bodger if they think I am buying a crap dvd!

saltysam · Post by **saltysam** » 17 Sep 2007, 19:11

the dvd is a decent effort,2 discs with plenty of extras though i haven't watched them yet.no sign of a HD release yet,the dvd will do me fine

bradavon · Post by **bradavon** » 17 Sep 2007, 20:04

In a way HD for this would be a bit strange. I'd still wait too though.

bradavon wrote:In a way HD for this would be a bit strange.

How so?

A HD release of 28 Days Later would be utterly pointless though, since like 95% of the film was shot on SD DV.

bradavon · Post by **bradavon** » 18 Sep 2007, 01:54

Because it's supposed to look rubbish and old. 1080p didn't exist in the 1970s

. I did say I'd still get the HD over DVD though.
