Finally got around to watching the trailer, shit this film looks like loads of fun. Makes you wish that Rodriguez would make films like this more often rather than kiddy crap like Spy Kids and Shark Boy & Lava Girl.

Simon Pegg is doing a mock trailer between the features, as well as Retard Roth and Rob Zombie.

Yeah, I can't imagine why mainstream America didn't want to go see a beat up film that looks like it was made in 1974 and played in theatres which smelt of cum. :D

I love the beat up look. The fact is though most people will not, in fact film fans aside no one will get it period. I'm definitely seeing this next w/e. I kind of wish I'd bothered to see it a few weeks back now when QT was on a satellite link afterwards.

Here is an R1 review: http://www.dvdactive.com/reviews/dvd/death-proof.html

I guess I'll have to buy the R1 DVD with no UK release date to speak of.

I can see a few years down the line an obscure DVD being released with all those marks removed and for once we'll be complaining they actually removed them :D

p.s - Hey Salty isn't there an HD release at all?

In a way HD for this would be a bit strange. I'd still wait too though.

How so?

A HD release of 28 Days Later would be utterly pointless though, since like 95% of the film was shot on SD DV.

Because it's supposed to look rubbish and old. 1080p didn't exist in the 1970s :D . I did say I'd still get the HD over DVD though.

35mm film is higher resolution than 1K HD, so your point is moot.

I know that Mr. Obvious my point isn't moot.

Of course it's moot Brad, the film's designed to look rubbish at 35mm, reducing the resolution reduces the "theatrical" look of the film.

Do you have any links for this Romero?

Check out this cool fan cover art I found on DVD Profiler. I presume it's fan cover art:

:D
The "warning" my local Odeon put up saying the film is supposed to look rubbish and old and that "there is nothing wrong with the film" made me smile :D
