From the AVS Forum:
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=955388I tried out Transformers HD DVD. Start up was around 40 seconds. It started up and worked flawless. The picture I felt was better than the HD DVD add on I had for the 360.
There are other reports of good picture quality and fast load times on that AVS Forum thread too.

Agreed. It seems to be a "Samsung" not "Player" problem. It's not going to stop me buying one though.
Does the Fox Java amount to much?
Interesting:
Planet Earth to the HD-DVD list!

I've also added:FWIW mine played LFoDH just fine last night. I even stopped, started, paused, backed up and everything else you could do to it.

Oh such great loses, not being able to watch Mr & Mrs Smith, Die Hard 4 TC and Fantastic Four 2! That's more than enough reason to commit suicide!
But seriously though, the only major bummer would be Planet Earth. I've heard that that doco series has stunning visuals (although one that I wouldn't buy on HD. As a bargain bin DVD set, yes).

Agreed. I'm far more concerned about Fox BDs in general though, clearly it's something Fox alone are adding to the Java on their discs.EvaUnit02 wrote:Oh such great loses, not being able to watch Mr & Mrs Smith, Die Hard 4 TC and Fantastic Four 2! That's more than enough reason to commit suicide!
That's a strange one as I cannot find the source for this on AVS. It just says "Problem using the scene selection" in the main thread for problem discs.EvaUnit02 wrote:But seriously though, the only major bummer would be Planet Earth. That alone doesn't sound like a fault we should get too worried about. It could also be a particular problem with the disc as only one user has reported it (AFAIK).

2 users have reported it quote=bradavon wrote:Do they say what happens when they try? Thanks.
When the main menu appears, you get the building blocks around the screen. Then if you press up, down, left or right on the remote and press enter, you finally get scene selections. Upon playback, if you press the pop-up menu button, you get the building blocks with no graphics to allow you to access special features, scene selections or set-up. My player is using the latest version of firmware.
