So if you want the best open matte transfer, buy the R1. Best widescreen trasfer, buy the R2UK. Both DVDs have a number of unique extras.

I'll get both, but the R1 will be first, since I've only ever seen the film in 4:3.

I believe Metrodome are releasing just the first disc in the set seperately at a low rrp, so if you ain't too fussed by the sound of the extras on disc02 or the open matte UK edit of the film, you could get this cheaper edition.

Hey Shingster, Just read the reviews, very cool :). I didn't know about the 4:3 chop off, I completely missed that. If metrodome will release the widescreen on its own, then I would def get that instead of the 2 disk.

Cheers for that. BTW the review link is: http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=65006

Chris Gould has explained his comments on the 2:2 pulldown issue and it turns out that the 2:2 pulldown method I was aware of was the wrong one! D'oh! Anyway he's corrected my review at the bottomf the comments section. The basic gist is that it is flagged as interlaced but it appears progressive.
