I was just about to post this as well. 8) I do agree that the guff about HKL comissioning a new score themselves for Ong Bak is a crock of shit

(I hope it is anyway)...

Luc Besson doing a new score is bad enough.

The bit about Odd Couple being £10.99 from them isn't a joke

Hey,

Just read over at Asian DVD Guide...

The music inside the movie [Bang-Rajan] has not been rescored by Premier Asia...The featurette was about the scoring session for the UK trailers and DVD menus.

It will probably be the same thing for Ong Bak.

Duel to the Death and Dragons Forever are on my 'to buy' list.

I hope that the specs for City on Fire and Millionaires' Express will be soon updated to include mono tracks.

No mention on deleted scenes for Dragons Forever or Millionaires' Express. So hopefully they're already included within the film print. Fingers crossed.

Mostly the extras consist of interviews which are nice. But we need more rare stuffs.

And about those Jackie Chan re-issues. Fortune Star prints, surely??? I mean it would be ridiculous to repackage the Media Asia releases in light of the HD materials they now have access to.

Grim... that shot of Jackie on the "Dragons Forever"-cover is not from "Project A 2". In fact, it is from "Dragons Forever". Or did I get your post wrong?

Not that I know of... but if you change "Prostitute" to "Psychiatrist" then yes, sort of. Seems that the TWO scenes in question were in the original cinema prints, but missing from the Chinese Media Asia releases. The English dub has always hade them, but loses some bits 'n' pieces that are in the Chinese version.

Exactly. If Fortune Star give HKL a remastered inema print (fingers crossed) then we should be hope and dry. Only the English dub would suffer. It would have to be redone anyways as the current English option doesn't fit either Chinese version. Although you could argue that since the xtras are very slim on a supposed Platinum release HKL could (perhaps should) include two versions of the film. Just a thought?

Knetan (on Tron's forum) reports Center Stage is actually 150-ish mins long on the FS DVD, instead of the 140 min DC.

Okay don't because you didn't. You said TBB would be a PE and I said I hope FOF is. It seems I was right :mrgreen:

If the FOF PE is from a FS remaster I'll upgrade for sure but otherwise I won't bother.

I never knew ABT3 and PS2 were longer cuts? Does PS2 contain the Japanese footage? I thought ABT3 just had the deleted scenes seperate?

As for Centre Stage it clearly says it's the longer cut on CD WOW (which maybe according to Knetan even longer).

Yep. FS PS2 is the longer Japanese edit of the film.
Much better than the HK "theatrical" cut IMHO.

Too bad the quality of the subs drops dramatically during those extended scenes.

The japanese cut is slower, not as fast-paced as the HK cut.

-The Police Story 1 clip at the beginning is longer.
-It has different bloopers.
-There's a much longer interrogation sequence with the police women.
-The scene in the middle of the film where they follow the gangsters is much longer and better (5 minutes).
-The scene where Maggie throws the bucket of water on Jackie is extended (1 minute).
-The new cops that Jackie is working with have their own introduction scene.
-The end fight is longer.

If you didn't like the HK cut, you'll probably hate the JP cut.

And ABT3 ?

No idea. I've never seen the shorter version so I don't know what has been added.
The extended cut works very well, though.

I know CD-WOW said Center Stage was the longer cut, but as you say, according to Knetan its' even longer, so FS have gone and got a longer print without saying anything.

Interesting.. IMO the scenes in the Jap cut of PS2 didnt really add anything,

But I love the HK version.
You're right it has a different set of bloopers at the end.
