Nice find Grim. I've been trying to track this down but can only find the crapola old releases on DDDHouse, Yes asia etc . . .

AFAIK it's about Maggie playing an actress (hold up read the freakin' CD WOW article

) . According to Knetan it's one of Maggie's best performances, she won awards I believe. Not that it surprises me as she is very talented. Like Michelle Yeoh I could watch her forever.

That looks like digi-pack too nice. It's the Director's Cut also. LOL I didn't know there was more than one cut. Don't the IVL DVDs always have English subtitled extras? or is it just Police Story and ABT.

I'm not sure, but my IVL Killer/BITH boxset has subbed extras.

Those Code of Bullets featurettes on the IVL John Woo DVDs are utterly hillarious IMO. They attempt to explain the realism in Woo films... bwhahaha. Yeah, virtually immortal heroes and guns which only seem to run out of bullets at moments of dramatic tension are totally rooted in reality.

I didnt really "get" the Bullets features, some rubbish about "guns" (!) maybe they were done for the HK audience I don't know.

The HK (and US) police can have guns but ours can't for example.

The feature would have more relevance to the HK audience since their real-life police can use guns, like the film ones can, so to them, it has more of a sense of "reality" than it does to us.

With gun crime on the increase I'm not convinced.

The Killer, BITH and OUATIC Trilogy released separately in Korea.

I suspect these are the same as the ones in the HK box set but are separate and don't have the Mono sound:

Hey Mark,

You will be pleased to know that Fox's DVD of Warriors Two does not have dubtitles but proper subtitles. The mono track is also in synch (according to Matt on Love and Bullets anyway).

Which batch did it come with?

Does it have mono? As around the same time they started including mono they started subtitles, roughly. I suspect some how it has dubtitles.

I own the three Fox R1 DVDs I want - HK 1941, ITLOD4 and Royal Warriors. I'm still trying to decide whether to double dip with the OUATIC Trilogy.

What's the cheapest it can be bought for?

I also read on Asian DVD Guide that Armour of God (the first one) has been released on its own in Korea, like Wheels on Meals...
It doesnt have the mono (stereo?) track but according to this.. the screencaps look excellent

Someone has thought Wheels on Meals could be released by Fox (studying the Further Attractions menu on one of the Korean DVDs) so maybe that will have Mono.. hmm.

If you look at the back snapshot it says "Armour of God" on the back.
Armour of God was good fun but AOG II was even better IMO

Maybe there'll be a English dub included on the HK DVD (I doubt it), but I really like Jackie's song "Flight of The Dragon" (High Upon High) :mrgreen:

I just read this over at ADVDG - Mark has posted it, in fact.

From a poster called "shawbros" over at KFF (Kung Fu Fandom? Dunno what that stands for).

"Bad news--Warriors Two audio is totally messed up!!! If you're buying the Fox dvd only 'cause you want original MONO you can save your money! The mono track is simply a DD2.0 downmix of the 5.1 re-mix along with all the new sound effects. (lots of birds too!) They even inserted some Sam Hui music in the scene at the inn!!! Totally disgusted with this release!!!"

I don't think so. Seems to be only Warriors Two at the moment. Hopefully the last.

I checked my Deltamac DVD and that's true Mono. So if you care about the audio get that.

HKL DVDs (early ones) were basically souped up Mono weren't they, nothing wrong with them IMO. They would downplay all the foley effects though.

Yes. If the only other choice was a blurry pan and scan job then that might be different. But the Deltamac DVD is 2.35 and in fine shape. So I'm happy with that...
