When is Armour of God II being released? Is it by itself? :)
I knew A Better Tomorrow and The Killer would be released seperately

Hey Mark, interestingly they have "Way of The Dragon" up for a July release, maybe this means the other Bruce films will be released seperately too? :? I may get:

Amour of God 1 and 2
WOTD for image quality and Mandarin audio but keep my HKL for the extras.
I would buy WAY on its own, but not if it is an a boxset with something else. There doesnt seem to be any mention of boxsets.

Merci, Tom ;)
If it isnt I might get the Armour of God 1/2 boxset then :D I'm sure, version wise, it will be the HK print on the disc, but you gotta love the US theme song - High Upon High (Flight of the Dragon) :D

I hope that the subs on AOG1 will be an improvement over HKL.

I'm sure that lots of people didn't understand the "Snookums / Kuang Sheng" joke between Rosamund and Jackie on the HKL dvd. :D

Huh? :?
No you're you're right, I didn't understand the joke. ;) What was wrong with the subs and what does the joke mean? Do tell? :D

When she sees him, Rosamund calls Jackie "Kong-Sang" twice.
The subs translate it as "Snookums" once and then as "Kuang-Sheng".

Chan Kong-Sang is Jackie Chan's real cantonese name.

That's why he says: "Only she calls me that". :D

That's a funny little private joke between Jackie Chan and Rosamund Kwan.

--------------------------

The same thing happened in Mr Vampire (The "coffee/coke" joke).

As you all know ( :D ), Coffee is pronounced "Gafeh" in cantonese.

In the coffee-house, Ricky Hui sees that everybody is ordering something called "coffee".
He turns to Lam Ching-Ying and says:
-Master, I don't want "gafeh". Can't I have "coffee" ?

In the HKL DUBtitles, he says:
-Master, I don't want coffee. Can't I have a coke instead ?

Tom's right about those two HKL fuck-ups.

Just to state the obvious: Chen Kuang Sheng in Mandarin would be Chan Kong Sang in Cantonese. Why the subs would use the Mandarin is anyone's guess? And "Snookums" is just silly. But I assume they figured no one would get the reference otherwise. How many people know Jackie's birth name?

I do :D I wouldnt have known the Mandarin though :? You're right Mark/Tom, that does indeed ruin the AoG joke.
Also I've had a thought about the releases of "Armour of God", "Armour of God II" and "Way of The Dragon".. do we know that these are necessarily remasters? They may not be.

Weren't Deltamac owned by Fortune Star/IVL? Couldnt they just be re-releases of older discs? :?
I'd love to see a Armour of God II remaster though.

Hey Mark did you notice Shaolin Challenges Ninja from IVL? :)
I've never seen it but it looks quite good, sounds a bit like the later Ninja In the Dragon's Den from Seasonal Films (the Chinese v Japanese angle).

Is it worth seeing? :)

The original language is Cantonese right?

It's great to see separate releases at last.

It's a pity they're not releasing FOF as this is really the only title I want from the box sets (i.e - on it's own. I'd get the OUATIC trilogy).

Great news about "Centre Stage" I hear from Knetan and others it's excellent.

I wonder why BITH isn't getting released but The Killer is, weird.

I wonder if ITLOD4 will differ to the Fox DVD? I'm guessing it will have Cantonese mono but more importantly for me subtitles instead of dubtitles. It would be my third version of this but I'd upgrade/side grade.

Iron Monkey is an interesting one. A FS HD remaster would be tops but in reality I'm more than happy with my PE so I won't be bothering.

Won't City on Fire HKL be also a FS remaster? So I'll get the HKL DVD for that one.

So far I'm interested in ITLOD4 and Centre Stage

It's also good to see Ang Lee's "Eat Drink Man Women" getting a decent release.

I see yet another IA box set is coming but minus the last 2 discs. Hopefully it will be much cheaper. The 8 disc box set was bloody expensive.

I bet very much it's a box set.

I agree about EDMW, excellent film. :)
Yeah I agree about the Bruce Lee releases but logic dictates (to me anyway) that the others cant be far behind - I mean they havent released Big Boss seperately yet either, which I'd buy again with a Mandarin track (and if they could find the scenes in the Mandarin print :P

Just got it this morning. Brilliant film. A must have. Pisses all over Dragon's Den from a great height.

Me to. We can hope.

It would make more sense to release them in order but there you go.

I may pick up HOTE soon then :)
Is A Better Tomorrow (IVL) being released by itself as well? Can't think why.. :? I won't be saving any shelf space by buying the HKLs over the boxset.

Do you have any IVL's to trade? :)
