From what I gather, the uncut version won't have DTS or the commentary.

It gets more laughable the minute. Are you sure they'd review a film with 27 minutes missing?

The Protector

The Weinstein Company and Genius Products will release the martial arts spectacular The Protector (Tom yum goong) on January 16th, 2007.

I already posted all that THREE pages!!!

I wouldn't be surprised if Bey prefered the shorter US cut with the Rza score.

From what I've read, the uncut version will not have DTS. It's on disc 2 along with the 56min making of documentary from the Korean and HK DVD releases.

56 minutes that's longer than I was expecting cheers. I still like the look of the UK offering more. DTS on the butchered cut only, no thanks.

IMO, no DTS on the longer cut is no big loss. I'm just glad they didn't stuff both versions onto 1 DVD9 like Zu Warriors and Shaolin Soccer. Zu Warriors, maybe but Shaolin Soccer definitely deserves a better DVD. Hopefully Dragon Dynasty can do something about that in the future.

Sorry, but I didn't plagerize you. I got this from a press release at hkflix.

Agreed but when the Premier Asia version does, it does.

Fair point except it didn't really effect the transfer and even the UK offering does this, which turned out to have the best PQ world-wide.

Anybody know if Dragon Dynasty has any plans on releasing "Once Upon a Time in China and America"?

For what it's worth it's not mentioned in the press release on the front page. Columbia Tristar own the USA rights to OUATIC1-3 (and messed it right up).

Tai Seng look to have "Once Upon a Time in China and America" -

Sounds like they fucked up the Tom Yum Goong release, plus the Police Story DVD only seems so-so...

How long would TYG be when it's uncut and PAL? As there is a 109 minute version out in Holland.

If my 5 pound cd-wow voucher would still be valid I would have picked up the R2UK of TYG...

Really? I got this the last time I tried to buy it from hkflix:

URGENT NOTE: Buena Vista claims ownership of this title in North America. As such, we are unable to sell this imported DVD.

This was a couple of years ago.

Already posted 4 posts up.

Eva hat on:

You're doing this a lot lately Eva. Not bothering to read older posts and posting information already posted, the same goes for your news on TYG and Seven Swords.

I posted it a day earlier. Keep up!

Eva hat off

Yes for TYG but to be fair on PS all versions are so so, that can't be helped with the age etc . . . of the film.

For those who want Mono it's definitely the best of the bunch.

If you've not used it it will be.

I"m just happy DD is including both versions of T-Y-G on their release. I already have 3 other editions (only Edko's has DTS but it's slightly cut) so theres really nothing to bitch about.

You could get the UK DVD, unless you can only play R0/R1?

I do want to get the UK PA version too but it seems a bit pricey. A local retailer is charging US$40 (marked down from $50) for it! You can buy The Simpsons season box sets for less LOL. I'll just probably end up buying the PA anyway. I hope the extras are entertaining.

$40 my god, forget that silly price and get it from HKL, BOGOF (Buy one get one free).

USD 28.23 Postage added (Remember BOGOF so actually half that): https://www.bulletsnbabesdvd.com/forums/ ... php?t=2915

OR here:

* USD $28.23 Postage added: http://www.sendit.com/video/item/7001000127423
* USD $21.33 Before postage (I can't see how much postage is): http://www.choicesuk.com/Product.aspx/!682579
* $34.95 from DVD Pacific Before postage - My god what a rip off.

All the above ship to the USA (except for Choices UK where I can't find out) and postage has been added. All are trustworthy companies too.

EDIT: That Sendit price is 50% more :D

WHy not order it from CD-Wow when they have it back in stock?
Why even bother with the USA DVD. It's not like the US cut is worth having. Why would you want them to have your money if they produce such a shitty product?

Brad, tell him my thoughts about ong-bak!!!

:D

I already have the Mangpong, KDmedia and Edko DVDs so owning the PA and/or DD won't hurt at all.

Why not order it from HKL? BOGOF. It's £14.49/€21.55 delivered for two DVDs for you:

https://www.bulletsnbabesdvd.com/forums/ ... php?t=2915

It's cheaper + a second free DVD.
Yi-Long wrote:Why would you want them to have your money if they produce such a shitty product?
Ricky may prefer NTSC.

I have the Premiere Asia disc with me right now and honestly the extras could've been better. The interviews are OK but the production featurettes are too brief.
