It is even supposed to be longer than the Thai cut, which according to them...
http://www.schnittberichte.com/schnittb ... hp?ID=2942
... is only 318 seconds longer than the TC. There are pictures of the additonal scenes of the thai disc on that site.
They explain that the Thai fighter scene explains why Fok Yun Gap decides to leave the village again, while in the TC he just leaves.

OK, I just found where I read it. Ronny Yu says so in this interview:
http://www.kaijushakedown.com/2006/09/r ... nterv.html
Now where is that picture of the Thai fighter?

For those who don't visit the Reviews/Comparisons subforum, you might want to check these two threads:

SPOILERS:

Put simply:
The R1 unrated cut is cut.
We're trying to determine whether the R2UK and R4 are cut too.

I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

WOW nice one cheers Hung.
It looks like the director came through like he said he would in that link from LD.
He said early January and here it's come. Sure English subs might be pulled but you know what I reckon there's a good chance of them staying:
1. The original HK DVD never had subs
2. Universal no doubt put a stop to the Theatrical Cut getting subs (even if they ended up being different)
3. The Asian cut is bound to be exclusive to Asia. As we know it's happened loads of times before. Namely Hero, I doubt we'll see it outside of Asia.
I'm pleased I opted to wait to watch and buy it.
I'm going to wait until someone confirms English subs though. I made my own Ong-Bak and have done Tai Chi Master + Fist of Legend but those were extreme circumstances.
Brad wanders off to ask CD WOW if it will have English subs and if they'll stock it (which they will).
