No, I mean Catonese. I've never seen a Mainland Chinese trailer.

Well you mean Hong Kongese then (it's not an official name but is much the same as Taiwanese). There is no such nationality as Catonese, it's a spoken dialect.

It would be like calling the Chinese Mandarinese :D

Seriously, who gives a shit? It's like getting hung-up on calling a blackboard a "blackboard" when they're actually green.

Ju-On: The Grudge 2 - 2 Disc SE, in October -

http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=62711

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WOW I'm impressed. I was really expecting a 1 disc release with 1 pathetic featurette, this is much more like it.

It's good to see Contender haven't completely killed the Premier Asia and HKL brands off.

The Bey Logan commentary clearly shows they've had this ready to go for ages, it's good to see they didn't release a 1 disc Grudge 2 (like they did for Grudge) for the USA cinema run and the proper 2 disc version for the USA DVD.

I doubt I'll bother though as this genre of film has so run it's course and frankly "Takashi Shimizu" REALLY needs to do something new, with SIX films being directed by him all about the same thing.

I doubt it. This was likely completed and then shelved before Brian White and Bey Logan flew the coup.

Make that SEVEN, he's supposed to be working on Ju-On The Grudge 3 at the moment.

Specs for Contender's TYG (Warrior King) release.
http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=62762

Looks to be uncut and have the original score, so can always pick this up if the Dragon Dynasty "The Protector" DVD only has The RZA's rescore.

hey,

some gore cult classic I believe. By the genre standards, is it....romero? :) Roy Frumkes was involved in that too.

News on Weinsteins version of Tom Yum Goong:

Beyond innate flaws, one of the knocks the film has received has been TWC’s truncated version that reduces its original 109-minute running time down to 80 minutes. San Francisco Chronicle writer G. Allen Johnson points out in his Sept. 8th review that a motive for one character’s killing of another would be impossible to discern without having seen the original version, which he describes in contrast as being a “better film with logical plot development.”

Is this some kind of cosmic joke ?
I thought the Weinsteins had improved...

But how does it compare to the IVL? Sure it loses Mono but what about the PQ? I'm surprised there aren't any more reviews.

This says it all, as the IVL is much better than the AB:

"The image is good in the night-time sequences. The improvement on the image from the previous Anchor bay disc is marginal I would say."
EvaUnit02 wrote:so can always pick this up if the Dragon Dynasty "The Protector" DVD only has The RZA's rescore.
Does this have a release date? Agreed I'll pick up WK otherwise.

Brad did you see in HKL's newsletter theyre selling a lot of DVDs for £7 as HKL the company is 7 years old apparently (blimey didnt realise it was that old :D )

BUT it doesn't include any newer releases or PE's, so not a bargain really

Yeah but no actual link to the sale prices, that's clever. Not that I care when Play are selling them for £5.99 :D

p.s - Do you have the link then?
