That was easier then I expected to upload them, still took a while as lost conection a lot
Pretty hard to get the exact frames for the Sarah pic
Still I used Photoshop to resize them and tried not to compress them much, still they look a bit different thats for sure, just hard to get an exact comparison if we both use different programmes to compress etc..
still here they are
all correct now

All correct above I think
the 1st cap is vastly different in terms off colour and the transparicy of that blast of plasma fire!
Saving them and flicking thru like a flickbook they are very different and even framed slightly differently some pics
not sure which is best, but the EE edition eems brighter, but seems to loose a little detail to my eyes as some areas seem to bright really like the Terminators body in pic 1

There's nothing wrong with my caps. Fuck Power DVD. If any caps are wrong it must be Romero's. Save from Bitmap to Jpeg using a paint package. That's it. No need to mess about with settings (unless you already have). There should be no noticeable difference between programs if caps are taken right. Still if you doubt me take your own and see. If I'm wrong I'll admit it.

You guys would pay nothing for the UE or EE edition of T2? not even a few quid?!Markgway wrote:Nothing, because unless Romero's caps ARE indeed fucked-up, the UE, which I already have, looks better.
I get the feeling Romero has left the colour enhancing mode on PDVD as that is enabled by default and it really does fuck up the colour/contrast on a DVD.

The screen caps look nothing at all like they do on MY TV screen (thats why I rarely bother even going of screen caps online as they rarely if ever represnt the real dvd), they look like a totally different transfer, on my TV its georgous.
I did ask what settings etc.. I needed to do before hand to avoid this
all I did was press the screenshot button and resize and convert to Jpeg (with virtually no compression as set to highest Photoshop conversion rate) basically they look far to over colourful and way to bright compared to whats on my TV screen, you loose all the detail in brighness in them caps.
If they look nothing like my TV screen and to me thet represent bugger all

Yes please.MLAM wrote:I have the Extreme Edition of T2 (R1) if anyone wants me to do caps, unless my work is for James Bond only
Mark's look accurate to me.
That says it all really.romerojpg wrote:The screen caps look nothing at all like they do on MY TV screen (thats why I rarely bother even going of screen caps online as they rarely if ever represnt the real dvd), they look like a totally different transfer, on my TV its georgous.

Really, unless you've already buggered about with your settings you shouldn't need to change anything to get proper screen caps.
Just clicking the capture tool, resizing in a paint package (with no other alterations) and resaving as jpegs should do the trick. There must be something amiss with your program(s), Romero?

Well? that doesnt helpbradavon wrote:It's been mentioned a few times before what settings people should use.
I don't bother with PowerDVD either as Media Player Classic does a fine job capturing.
I have never read one word about it as I never care too much, as basically a screen shot does NOT look like what will end up on my TV.
Give it a try one time, put a picture cap from a site on your TV (by pausing the dvd) and on your PC at the same from a screen cap, you will find they never look even slightly the same. Hence most comparisons mean bugger all most the time. Its all down to your TV settings, not some silly PC screen (unless you ONLY watch dvds on your PC that is
Anyway I havent ever messed about at all with Powerdvd
The cap if you were to lower the contrast, brightness and colour on your screen will look great, so I dont see a problem anyway. What you see isnt what you are going to get on your TV thats for sure.

It's worth checking as programs like to change settings themselves.Markgway wrote:Really, unless you've already buggered about with your settings you shouldn't need to change anything to get proper screen caps.
I agree but many are purists. What capture tool are you using?Markgway wrote: Just clicking the capture tool
I'm not even sure how Romeoro managed to just press the print screen key (from which program?) as usually this won't work because of different refresh rates.

You lost me now, I didnt use print screen, never said I did. I used the ONLY capture tool there is on Powerdvd, as I said.bradavon wrote:

Nothing wrong with my caps anyway, ajust your PC screen until they look good

You change your TV settings for every film you watch? Seriously dude only a few people do that. I'm willing to bet your're in the minority.romerojpg wrote:unless your stupid that is and watch all dvds on the exact same settings.
It's really not necessary. I set it up when I first got it how I like it and like my monitor it's now set.
There's NO way it's my monitor making those images look "that" shit and VideoCD quality too. It's the caps I'm afraid dude (unless it really looks that way). Agreed the monitor can have an affect but it's not that extreme.
We'll know soon enough when MLAM uploads his version. I'm guessing they'll look very different.
romerojpg wrote:PC wise I am getting one and could get one right now, its just not a great time to get one at the moment as too much change in the PC industry for my taste, maybe another year and it will all be settled
Agreed there are bad times to upgrade but hardware never stops upgrading. You may as well buy now as no way will it settle down next year. That said it's probably wise to wait with Vista on the horizon which will mean new hardware needed.
It used to be crazy 5-10 years ago, within months what you've bought will be out of date.
A fair assumption I think. Fair enough.romerojpg wrote:all I did was press the screenshot button

Thats what I remember hearing once way back on the very old incartion of Bullets. I think Gil or Gojensen said that.
I don't change very much - all I do is increase the brightness by 5 points and decrease the colour by 5 for watching NTSC but not I don't change things for EVERY single DVD, if you see what I mean, can't be bothered with that.
