Cheers Jin!

They used the same music as they did in their "Full Contact"-trailer.

I just wish they could hire the man with the dark voice again (he voiced some trailers such as Full Contact, Heart of The Dragon etc.), to at least make the trailers more exciting. might have something to do with Brian leaving HKL.

I'd actually prefer trailers without ANY voice-over guy.

I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...

Agree with Jin. The guy from the "Full Contact" and "Bang-Rajan" trailers has a very good voice.

I'd prefer they stop using such bloody small resolutions. Do HKL know we all stopped using dial-up a long time ago?

HSNT looks decent, is it?

hey,

don't expect much from Heroes Shed No Tears. It seems more like a training ground for Woo and his stylish execution is far from polished. Having said that, there is some cool stuff there, including some heavy violence and Lam Ching Ying chews scenery wonderfully well.

I think there's a better film trying to get out...

I really need to see the director's cut.

hey,

that would be interesting definitely as traces of the master is in there, perhaps bogged down by the forced inclusion of comedy, Western "actors" and sex? :)

Still, Woo's thoughts on action regardless of any version obviously lacked THE flair he's known for but as it stands now, it's still a curious document to see as you can trace an evolution of sorts.

I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

Argh! Awful covers! And have HKL forgotten continuity with regards to logo placement?! That really bugs me!

LOL, they're marketing "Hapkido" as a comedy film.

Are they? :? Where do they say Hapkido is a comedy LD?
The Hapkido cover looks crap, it looks really strange placing the BBFC "18" logo where they have.
I'll certainly get these though, I havent bought a new HKL in ages.

The cover for Hapkido looks like some bootleg. What happened to the folks who did Knockabout back in January?

hey,

in all honesty, I've stopped caring about covers, trailers and even extras... just do the feature right and all is good. I sure wasn't feeling a comedy vibe from that synopsisor the Hapkido trailer. Bit of a shame that Whang In-Sik doesn't get a mention in the trailer as he arguably kicks ass whenever he appears, and plays a good buy to boot.

The fact that we're even getting Hapkido in a comercially driven market is remarkable. Don't fuck it up.

And dreadnuaght is indeed one of the finest gems from Yuen Woo-ping's career IMO. A conflicting, mood filled film that shouldn't work yet triumphs in every area. After a fight-fest? Don't watch this.

Sammo isn't on the cover much to my surprise. On the English print I saw a few years back, he wasn't credited at all! And he does have a prominent role

The Dreadnaught cover isn't bad; same central image as MIHK used.

It does look as though HKL have gone for a retro 70's Kill Bill-esque appearence for Hap Ki Do.

The Dreadnaught DVD has been passed as a '15' cert, down from an '18'; no mention of cuts. But I would expect them to be same as before.

Yes but its not there on the Hapkido cover at all. And on the Dreadnaught cover the words "Hong Kong Legends" are at the side of the HKL logo. On every other release they are underneath the logo.

Its petty I know, but it just bugs me that they can't even keep the brand image consistant across releases. Just like with Outlaw Brothers - they dropped the HKL logo at the top of the spine. What was the reason for that? :(

hey,

the shot early in the trailer with Angela in the doorway has Jackie standing to the left. He's also a stuntman in the film and I remember spotting Lam Ching Ying as well.
