I've never seen a TV that you can do this and besides I don't want to keep having to change my TV settings. I leave them as they are and how I like them,
Thanks for the explanation though.

Rear projection TV sets are much better than LCD sets which are better than PLASMA sets, which ALL are worse than CRT's. CRT's are actually the best way still to view TV/FILM at home, best contrast, best blacklevels etc. etc. The biggest problem with rear projection TV's are their limited viewing angles. But if you direct compare a proper setup Plasma with a RPS you'll see how shite the plasma is... and if you go for a demo... have them put on "live" programming (soccer is good) and certainly NOT animation (which is used in 75% of all demos - because the limited colourranges and "unrealistic" images just looks great on plasma

) [/quote]
Whenever I've seen rear projection TVs I've always thought they were huge and the quality was crap tbh. I've not seen many plasma TVs and not in detail but I've much preferred what I've seen.
LCDs haven't hugely impressed me but again I've not looked properly.
I've heard many people say LCDs TVs are crap. Why do you disagree? CRTs maybe the best but they don't go any higher than 36" WS I think and besides again they're huge. The floor space you need for one is enormous. You can't get CRTs that support progressive scan too right?
If I buy to buy a large TV (35/40 inches plus) it would either be LCD or Plasma. I agree though animation is a bad idea when it comes to testing. As it's easy to make animation look great. My next TV will probably be a 32" flat screen 100 hertz CRT. As any bigger would engulf the room I use for home cinema. It always looks awful IMO when you walk into a room and all you see is this enormous TV.
Plus CRT TVs are by far the cheapest. You can get a 32" flat screen 100 hertz for under £550 easily (i.e - from a decent make). I'm looking at the Toshiba models as they have component inputs. Better quality and great for saving on scarts.
