Asian movie mistakes

Post by tom2681 »

Hey guys !

Since most of you aren't afraid of screenshots, I've had an idea for a new thread.
Here you can write about continuity mistakes, visible equipment, anachronisms and so on...

*Don't bother writing about obvious stunt doubles or visible wires, though. If you did, we'd have to mention every single HK movie ever made* :D

First:
Armour of God.

Near the end of the movie, Jackie climbs a mountain with his bike:
Image

He does that for a few shots then falls off his bike.
Then he looks up and sees:
Image

Notice anything weird ?
I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

2000 AD:

Aaron should have guessed that Andrew Lin was the bad guy.
You'd think the CIA guys should be able to spell Washington properly. :D

Here's another one:

Who Am I:

Jackie overtakes these guys during the rally. They're looking really surprised...
Image

And then they crash:
Image

But it's obviously not the same driver/gloves/car. The driver on the left is possibly ex-formula 1 driver Mauricio Gugelmin (judging by the helmet), but I'm just speculating. :D

More "Armour of God". Here are a few screenshots of the film's full-screen version:

The clapperboard on top of the screen.

The matrace on the floor.

The tree is even more visible than in the widescreen version.

Ah yes, the infamous german cut. :D
But I'm sure that the movie was always meant to be cropped to 1:85.

Some of these flaws are too obvious to be simple mistakes.

The German print is open matted. In the cinemas, it would have been matted and the goofs not visible

Of course you can. Or do you think I have that screenshot from a hidden archive in Chan's house?

I'm just shocked it's that obvious and the editor didn't spot it cutting the film.

I'm still of the opinion that he is underrated. And no... not over-rated. :D

Poor Michael. :D

The Armour of God was severely rushed production so it's not surprising mistakes are evident.

Here's another one:

Wheels on Meals:

Jackie's van smashes into 2 cars, severely damaging the rear lights.

And then it looks brand new in the very next shot.
