Bullet in the Head - Fortune Star 2-disc edition
Hey guys
Anyone know whether the Fortune Star 2-disc edition of Bullet in the Head is still available anywhere? All shops here in HK seem to sell it but someone's gone over the "disc 2" part of the case with marker pen, and the box only contains the first disc. I saw it in HMV today, no marker pen on the case, and thought "bingo!", I'd finally found the complete edition. Got it out the shop and it only contained the first disc :-(
Rather sloppy really to sell the 1-disc edition in the 2-disc edition packaging!

Best suggestion I can make is try emailing customer support at dddhouse.com they are very helpful and might know.
If you're in HK I'd imagine there must be flea markets etc if it is out of print. Also I buy from yahoo auctions HK from time to time, there are a lot of good sellers on that site and it's a far better selection than eBay

Re: Bullet in the Head - Fortune Star 2-disc edition
Thanks guys. The bloke in HMV checked his system and the 2-disc edition is indeed listed as out of print, with only a 1-disc edition now available. For whatever reason, presumably an oversight, the packaging was never updated to reflect this. I'll see if I can still obtain a 2-disc edition but at least the 1-disc edition still has the option to watch with deleted scenes/alternative ending (which, to be honest, is the real reason I wanted this release).

Re: Bullet in the Head - Fortune Star 2-disc edition
I'm after the 2-disc set myself but it's been OOP since last Autumn.
I too found out the hard way about the marker pen sleeve and sent it back.
All the major e-tailers told me the same: Only the 1-disc is currently available.

Re: Bullet in the Head - Fortune Star 2-disc edition
I'm going to try ordering it from DDD House, it doesnt say anything about a 1 or 2 disc edition
If it has the deleted scenes/alternate ending thats good eb=nough for me though.
DDDHouse list the release date as 2009 and Yes Asia say 2006
Bugger, maybe the new version is a 1 disc - oh well.

Sound remix is ok though, subs are brilliant.

Re: Bullet in the Head - Fortune Star 2-disc edition
our old comparison:
https://www.bulletsnbabesdvd.com/forums/ ... php?t=1990
The original IVL had a bit rough sounding mono... a bit hard on ears at times. A friend's got it, found my HKL to be the better of the two.

Re: Bullet in the Head - Fortune Star 2-disc edition
The 1-disc edition does have the option to watch with the deleted scenes and alternative ending, but no option to view these separately (which the second disc of the 2-disc edition allows you to do). Can anyone confirm whether the second disc of the 2-disc edition contains deleted scenes over and above those that are included in the “festival print” contained on the first disc?
Currently the only version of this film I’ve seen is the Fortune Star VCD, which I’m guessing is just the standard cut of the film.

Re: Bullet in the Head - Fortune Star 2-disc edition
I was wondering about that myself actually
Is the famous pissdrinking scene in the actual film?

Re: Bullet in the Head - Fortune Star 2-disc edition
I haven't watched it myself yet to confirm but I believe that the "festival print" contained on the first disc does indeed contain that infamous scene. Apparently the branching is not seamless, though.

Re: Bullet in the Head - Fortune Star 2-disc edition
I'm getting confused myself now as when I asked DDDHouse if the 1 disc version had the deleted scenes in the movie/alternate ending etc, they said "No special scenes version"

Re: Bullet in the Head - Fortune Star 2-disc edition
Hmm, that's odd. I haven't watched my 1 disc edition yet but I did put the disc in just to check it and can confirm that when you start the film you are presented with the option to watch with the deleted scenes and/or alternative ending. They're probably just using that phrase to mean it's not the special edition, or maybe they just don't realise that those scenes are indeed contained on the disc. Or, theoretically possible, there is a more "bare bones" 1-disc edition in existence which doesn't have the additional scenes, but I'd be surprised.

Re: Bullet in the Head - Fortune Star 2-disc edition
I'll wait and see what happens
If there is a version that doesnt have the deleted scenes/alternate ending in the movie, I dont want it. Johnny said it was cheaper (the re-release by a different company) so who knows

Re: Bullet in the Head - Fortune Star 2-disc edition
Can someone remind me, the HKL Platinum Edition. Does it feature the longest director approved cut or at least a director approved cut? It's the one I have too and I'm happy with it. It's a bit dark but it's acceptable. The remix is fine for me. Thanks.
Funnily enough I was thinking about checking it out the other day.

Re: Bullet in the Head - Fortune Star 2-disc edition
Going by the sleeve it looks like the 1-disc K&R DVD is just a repackage of the first Fortune Star release from 2006 - no deleted footage, branching or extras to be found. No mention of a mono track either - so beware.

Re: Bullet in the Head - Fortune Star 2-disc edition
I'll check my disc but you could be right - what a waste
I just had a look and theres no branching, alternate ending etc to be found.. when you select "Play Movie" it just gives the 131 minute version (no branching option?), extras include 2 trailers, a photo gallery and "Code of Bullets Part 5" - they even put 1 disc in a 2 disc case. Cheap bastards
The mono/stereo is there, under "Original Cantonese 2.0" though this isnt listed on the box.
I'm very
Got a good mind to flog it on Ebay (I can't really send it back)

I think it's a reprint of the IVL version, not Joy Sales, and doesn't have the extended version at all. Sorry if I wasn't clear.
