In my country they are classified as vegetables. And so are the cucumbers.

That's weird because it's science not convention that dictates why something is a fruit and something else a vegetable. A tomato makes much more sense as a vegetable though, agreed.

Surely the only thing that contradicts the idea of a tomato as a fruit in the minds of people is that it doesn't really taste like one? It ticks all the other boxes to classify it as a fruit.
