I agree with Dragon it's Craig that makes these Bonds so good. He will be hard to match, when he does go.
Must be a tremendous amount of pressure on Craig to live up to his last performance. After just one film he's been hearing "BEST EVER BOND" which is something I don't think any of the others had to worry about. If QOS doesn't perform the very same people will verbally castrate him - as they did when he won the part.
Mark, I think after Goldeneye some said Brosnan was a fine Bond, to match Connery.
I saw this article on Digital Spy, there wont be catchphrases and cheesy jokes, pleased about this as they won't be making the film to cheesy.

I think they've got rid of those too, for now.
The catchphrases "shaken not stirred" etc are iconic and with good reason, but I dont think they should be used again too quickly.
Although doesnt he say "The names Bond, James Bond" at the end of Casino Royale? I'm sure those are the last lines.
I think they're great. It's not like you need to say them in a cheesy way. Yes Craig said "The name's Bond, James Bond" at the end of Casino Royale.
I hope Money penny returns at some point. All these bits are what makes Bond Bond. You don't have to remove them, when giving a reboot. I don't mind the innuendos either. Although they wouldn't work if Craig said them.

True, I agree about the innuendo on both counts. Maybe they shouldnt be removed with a reboot, toned down maybe. I enjoyed them but as you say the cheesy stuff wouldnt work so well if Craig did it, he's meant to be closer to Flemming's Bond isnt he?

Has anyone else heard the new Bond theme song? Madonna will be relieved. Now Die Another Day is no longer the worst. It's tuneless drivel performed by pumpkin-faced wierdo Jack White and sub-Leona Lewis R&B warbler Alicia Keys. Both of whom sound like cats being stood on. Talk about amateur night. Seriously it's THAT bad. It's like a parody of a bad Bond song and makes Chris Cornell's effort sound like a friggin' masterpiece. When the cheesy-sounding guitar twangs kicked in I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
Heard it. Cant say I love it, but it's definately not as bad as Madonna's 'attempt'.
I quite liked Chris Cornell's song. Not a 'classic', but certainly good enough.
I would have liked a more classic sounding song, with maybe the vocals of Katie Melua or Norah Jones or something. They kinda have that classic silky sulky smooth sound, to provide something more 'classy' and calm.
I dont care for Alicia Keys. Her first song was good, her 2nd song was OK, but TBh she sounds too much the same in everything she does, and I HATE it when singers only go for the long exaggerated stuff, instead of just singing a good song.

I couldn't come up with as bad a song as that if I tried. Oasis said they had a tune that would make for a good Bond song and criticized the producers' ultimate choice. I thought they were being churlish. Now I believe they were spot on. The worst song out of 22 efforts and 46 years of the series but Brad thinks it's "fine". I despair.

I wish I could go back in time to post "I love the new Bond theme" just to see what you'd come up with? I wouldn't want everyone to agree with me all of the time. The forum would become boring. But it seems like everytime I make a post you follow it with something polar. I didn't like the DAD song because the style wasn't my up of cha. But the QOS song is actually inept. It's amateurish and badly done. Most Bond themes have a quality of production. This one sounds like it was a one-take demo done in someone's bedroom. Put aside your animosity toward me and listen to it again. Tell me I'm wrong. And I'm now wishing Whinehouse had gotten the contract.
