I had those complaints at the cinema... but I later found out that the Invisible Car isn't as stupid as it sounds and that the reflective mirrors it uses in the film are based on - believe it or not - real science. The tech is similar to how a digital camera works but obviously on a much much larger scale. Not my fave gadget, natch, but like I said, not as awful as I first thought.EvaUnit02 wrote:I've only seen the latter half of it, on TV. It was fucking dreadful. Invisible cars, a North Korean soldier gets plastic surgery to become a white pom guy, WTF?!
The Korean doesn't get plastic surgery; it's done by cell manipulation thru a specialist clinic where they re-encode your DNA or something. Strange, but I accepted it as fantasy.
The film ain't gritty Casino Royale, but it works as pure escapist nonsense, like most blockbusters are.

Just seen the trailer for the first time, and it looks pretty good, although it didnt blow me away as the trailer for the 1st movie did.
Craig is just an amazing actor though. Every scene you see him in, he just grabs it completely, oozing 'Bond'...

I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...

Casino Royale was a reboot to be fair, this isn't.

Just saw the 2nd trailer. Also not as impressive as I hoped it to be.
I dont know. I liked the down to earth gritty 'realistic' action ALOT in Casino Royale, and in this trailer we already see alot of over the top action-scenes etc.
Also, I'm not really 'feeling' the villain yet.
I'm sure it will be a decent or good movie, and Craig will once again be amazing.... but I'm not sure if this movie will be able to match the quality of the first. I sure hope so.
Obviously, I'll be waiting for the taiwanese version of this movie.

I agree about Craig and him again going to be awesome in this movie. I'm also more the fan of grounded down-to-earth action, but to be honest, even Casino Royale had some over the top sequences (chase scene in the beginning etc.).
I think it's Craig who makes them (more) believable. It's not just like "facial expression" - press the button - explosion, as we have seen it in previous Bond movies.
Daniel Craig just kicks ass.
But of course you're right, this whole airplane and boat and whatever sequences might be over the top.
Still, I'm now even more looking forward to this movie than after seeing the 1st trailer.
Can't wait to see the movie, and more of Olga Kurilenko...

WTF is that supposed to mean?Yi-Long wrote:Also not as impressive as I hoped it to be.
Casino Royale had it's fair share of over the top action. The crane scene anyone. This looks to be on the exact same level of gritty vs. over the top action.Yi-Long wrote:I dont know. He looks ace IMO. Europeans make for great villians.Yi-Long wrote:Also, I'm not really 'feeling' the villain yet.

I'm sure it will rock. It's pretty much the only British film we have left, don't take it away from us too 8). I agree with Dragon it's Craig that makes these Bonds so good. He will be hard to match, when he does go.
