"Bey's Blog" updates some info on upcoming titles, and confirms that Police Story III is being prepared "as we speak" and that Ken Lo has been interviewed for both that film as well as My Father Is A Hero:

http://dragondynasty.com/blog/show/101

And it still seems they're trying to pry Drunken Master II from Dimension's cold, not-so-dead hands. Well, if they managed to snatch up Police Story III (still wondering how they pulled that off), maybe DM II isn't entirely impossible... although, DMII was released 4 years later after PSIII in the US.

PS3 and MFIAH excellent. I've never seen the latter but it looks decent. I have the HK SE.

Surely they're not going to call it Supercop with PS1 and PS2 both having been released?

The IVL of Police Story III is fine, though. Drunken Master II we do need.

My Father is a Hero is nice. Not GREAT, but still pretty cool. Highlights are the kid fighting a bully classmate, and seeing the kid getting his head smashed through a glass table.

I'd surely hope not. Just put "Police Story 3: SUPERCOP" on there, that'll do :D

I have the IVL boxset, but it would be nice to see PSIII get a true special edition with more than just a trailer. Also, I've yet to see My Father Is A Hero. I won't hold my breath much for DMII, though, but at least there's a small sliver of hope.

It is agreed BUT you still have to buy two extra films I don't want, to get it. I've had to put up with a DVD9 DVD-Rip for ages now.

I want a proper DVD of the best Jackie Chan film (next is Dragons Forever). DM2 is pretty poor IMO, no loss there.

Hmmm.. if they get DM II. great! :)
I'm happy with my IVL set of the Police Story films.

With Dragons Forever, BCI could perhaps:

1) Create good remixes if the elements are available.
2) Improve on the subtitles as Tai Seng was reportedly a bit better than HKL.
3) Reinstate the scenes missing from when STAR TV allegedly dropped them.
4) Include the export English version using Seamless Branching (people! don't fucking buy cheap players as you're holding us back on such benefits like high bitrates!).
5) Coax JC to give an interview and perhaps acquire some vintage extras like export trailers that HKL may not have been permitted to do, or didn't have the resources (although I'm thinking of BCI's budget).

It's said the Miramax version was better looking, but some debated it. We'll only know once it's out :). Hell, the Cantonese mono might sound better than FS's master! HKL's extras were pretty good and some would be hard to top, I do wonder if BCI could acquire the best of those.

I don't like DM2 either, but I wouldn't want fans of it to suffer.

'My Father Is A Hero' can be a dumb brain-dead movie at points, but it's entertaining overall.

I want to know if they have 'Fong Sai Yuk' - one of my favourites.

DD: Please don't pinkify and make sure blacks don't turn grey either 8) .

Good point, and while I enjoyed the original trilogy, it does make sense for those who may only like the third film.

And yeah, while not to go off on a non-DD tangent, it would be interesting to see what BCI tries to do with Dragons Forever.

Whilst I'm not a big fan of Drunken Master II as a whole, the final fight scene is my single favourite of any film.

Notice how the release date is December 30, 2008... the last possible tuesday for a DVD release. In other words, they plan 2008, but have no real idea when it's coming out.

What I thought too.

I think seeing as it was mentioned a few times, HK Flix thought they could sneakily take pre-orders ;).

I really hope that isn't the cover art. He doesn't even wear those clothes in the film.

Me too. Even FOL has at least one decent version, this has nothing (or the sequel).

p.s - Who're BCI?

What film?

If you mean FOL, he's wearing the same clothes.

Well, I wouldn't say that.

For the first film, the Japanese DVD is interlaced, but uncut. Universe DVD is inferior with it's minor cuts and conversion, but has a less muffled soundtrack and English subtitles.

If you mean the cover for PS3, that's just the old Dimension Films theatrical poster from '96... just a temporary placement. But let's not forget, they stuck a "black shirt Chan" pic on the cover for PS2... ironically, most likely a publicity shot he took for the US release of PS3

Thanks Old Pang Yau. I'm sure it's just a temporary placement too.

We're talking about PS3 ;).

Are you forgetting the French DVD? ;). It doesn't have English subs but is still a very good disc.
Thanks. I forgot about them.
