The UK Dragons Forever is already excellent. I cannot see them beating it.
It's good to see some of the other get hopefully improved DVDs though. This is very good news indeed. I still find it weird that Miramax never bothered to release them and as such didn't try to sell them sooner.
This may even mean BDs too!

Those two scenes are vital to understanding Biao's character and their inclusion is necessary.
Ironically HKL included them on their DVD as an extra but with Cantonese mono which means that they could've re-edited them back into the film. Seamless branching would've worked fine and been easy as the scenes are self-contained.

I'm not sure but the fact only a handful of companies have ever used it must mean something. I can think of Artisan (T2) and Fox (Alien box set). I'm sure there's 1-2 I'm forgetting but not many.Markgway wrote:It's not that difficult surely?
Most opt for Integrated branching (MGM with Robocop) which always look awful, to the point you wish they hadn't bothered. No BD/HD-DVD has used seamless branching yet.
I like them "as deleted scenes".Markgway wrote:To me they are funny and even with their inclusion the film would only run 98m @ 24fps. So bollocks! 8)

I'm pretty sure the HK Vidéo versions of Tai-Chi Master and Fist of Legend have seamless branching.
Same video file for both the shortened US cuts and the HK cuts.

I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

Yeah, you choose whether you want to watch the theatrical version or the special version, and then the Blu-ray integrates the relevant scenes seamlessly (which is standard for Blu-rays featuring multiple cuts, just like the layer change is seamless on BDs unlike DVDs).bradavon wrote:Is that seamless branching? I don't know about that one.

Could be a factory in Europe then. Maybe the old news that few factories can do seamless branching was BS in the first place.tom2681 wrote:I'm pretty sure the HK Vidéo versions of Tai-Chi Master and Fist of Legend have seamless branching.
