World Cup Qualifiers on Wednesday

Post by grim_tales »

Do you think Sven will use the 4-4-2 system against N.I on Wednesday? IMO we should if Owen comes back, we need to attack! ;) Too much defensive play on Wednesday in Cardiff IMO :?

Didnt Scotland draw 1-1 with Italy on Wednesday too? They (Scotland) should of won.

Who are they playing on Wednesday?

No, Scotland drew 1-1 with Italy on SATURDAY.

They are playing Norway on wednesday, and must win to still have any hope of getting 2nd spot, thanks to the bloody Norwegians scoring and extra time winner against Slovenia... Oh, how that one goal has completely changed these final stages.

Mind you, if Scotland hadn't been so diabolical in their early games, like drawing with Moldova or whatever, then we wouldn't be in this position in the first place!

Hey,

According to Ceefax Owen is going to come back for England so Joe Cole will be dropped for the game tonight against N.I.
Wierdly, Sven will stick with 4-5-1, presumably playing Owen up front and Rooney on the left (?) :?

Playing Norway away... fingers crossed for a good result, but I see a draw as being more likely.

You'll probably still get one of the two best runner up spots which will give automatic qualification. Although should you lose to Poland as well, that might not be the case. Would have to look at tables more closely... I'm pretty sure they don't could results against the bottom team (or two teams for the groups with one more team than the others) so not sure how it is looking.

I THINK we can qualify automatically in 2nd if we beat Austria AND Holland beat the Czech Republic.
Winning the group would be better though.
