Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Trailer - thoughts

Post by grim_tales »

Did anyone see the trailer on GMTV this morning?

Looked pretty good I thought, looks exciting :) I'm still not sure if this will be split into 2 movies or just 1. :?

I've also heard it will probably be a 12A over here (its likely to be a PG-13 in the US) so it should be quite dark like the book :D Is this maybe because book 4 deals with slightly more mature/teen issues (romance ;) )

Look carefully and you'll see a glimpse of Katie Leung (Cho) in the trailer ;)

I still havent seen Prisoner of Azkaban yet!

Yeah my girlfriend applied for the part of Cho Chang when auditions were being made, but she didn't get it and was quite freaked out when the girl who did get it has the same name!

My girlfriend's English name is Kate / Katie Leung, and her Chinese name is Leung Wing Kei, so technically both her full names are now famous!

I saw the trailer and thought it looked really quite good, and i'm definitely looking forward to it!

HP is beginning to look a bit of a hippy now though, what with that longer messy hair... but looking at him in this film, and how he looked in part 1, god he is growing up!!

Yeah I noticed he has rather long hair too! :P
I do like how he's growing up though, I havent seen PoA yet but in Part 2 he had an alarmingly deep voice compared to Philosopher's Stone, his voice broke quickly :D

I have to admit that I was ready to give up on HP after part 2.
Too childish, too easy, too stupid.

Then I watched part 3 (out of curiosity) and I'm glad I did ! :)
Great cinematography, great acting, great actors, great SFX...

Bring on part 4! :D
in Part 2 he had an alarmingly deep voice compared to Philosopher's Stone
Actually his voice broke while they were shooting part one. That's why he was unable to ADR his lines.
Some rumors say that he was dubbed by another actor (I doubt it, though).
I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

Ummm... what does 'ADR' mean?

And I do agree with Tom - while I did enjoy parts 1 and 2, they did have more of that "aimed at children" quality about them that made me not want to go back to the films as much. But the darker tone of part 3 was awesome and raised the series back up. From the trailer it looks like part 4 will continue in a similar manner, which is why I'm really quite looking forward to it!

Additional dialogue recording.
When you shoot a movie, the sound isn't very good because of the various noises present on a movie stage.
You need to dub the dialogue after the shoot. It's called ADR.

Some movies (like the Lord of The Rings or Star Wars) have more than 50% ADR.

Check this out - you'll be able to see the full US trailer for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Looks very good :thumbleft: Cho is real cute too ;) So many memories...

Book 4 is brilliant overall but I'm sure they'll be able to take things out of the film that arent very important to the story in the book, IMO - and make a good film.

Scroll down a bit.

Emma Watson says the film deserves the rating because it's "darker" than the others. Speaking at a press conference to promote the film, she said "I'm in it and I was scared! Its more of a thriller, and we can't hide the fact that someone will die"

How old is Emma now, I thought she was 17?
She doesn't look it :P
