Shutter is a remarkably enjoyable new Thai horror that only adds to other Asian movies in the genre that have paved the way. The video is little above average but the soundtracks are fantastic and there are even a few all-too-short extras to round off this disc. If you like your Asian horror then you should pick this up as a worthy addition and if you are bored by the last few similarly-themed films in the genre then this might just be a pleasant surprise.
Yes it has your standard Asian horror long black haired woman stalking everyone. But the storyline was excellent, I didn't expect the climactic conclusion. I really enjoyed this. My favourite Asian horror since A Tale of Two Sisters. Fantastic stuff.

I agree 100%!! Shutter was deffinetly one of the best, if not THE best horror films from all of Asia. The scares are so cheap but they work every time, and i was very surprised at the depth of the story, and yes the climax was awesome!
Some of the images in that final 15 minutes i had in my head for quite a while after watching it.

See this movie!

Cool

I may give it a try but tbh bar ATOTS which I have but haven't seen yet I'm all out of this genre of film.

It could be the best film of this type ever and I doubt I'd buy it.

Brad, I'd seriously give it a go. I too thought it'd be a dire Ringu rip off.

I was pleasantly surprised, the storyline really carries the film. It's very original in that sense.

And watch A Tale of Two Sisters tonight. :D

I didn't think much of A Tale Of Two Sisters.
Sure, it had plenty of scares and creepy bits, but ultimately I didn't know what the story actually was and I got the impression that the director wasn't too sure either.
