Ebay selling
Hey,
I sold a DVD on Ebay recently, the buyer claimed it had been damaged when they recieved it (cracked in two pieces). I asked them for pictures as it wasn't damaged when it was sent (I wrapped it in bubble wrap), should I give a refund? Luckily it wasn't expensive but I think they should provide evidence

If they open a dispute you'll lose. probably had a damaged copy themselves so they've bought yours to do a switcheroo for free.i've had this a couple of times, once i blagged them by saying i had another copy that i'd send out, never heard no more from them after that.

Re: Ebay selling
Thanks Sam They haven't opened a dispute yet or got back to me AFAIK, so wasn't sure if I should wait, see if they send it back, or refund them and be done with it

eBay always sides with the buyer.
I would ask for pictures.
Tell them you'll need them to claim compensation from Royal Mail.

If it's only the case I wouldn't give a refund. It kinda comes with the territory when you order used cheap stuff. It's not a brand new steelbook. I've received a ton of damaged cases from musicmagpie etc and never asked for a refund as long as the DVD works and the cover is intact. Cases are dirt cheap so who cares. If the buyer keeps complaining you could offer a partial refund, minimize the loss.

Thanks Mark
I did ask for pictures but so far they haven't provided them, they're said they're sending it back...
I asked again though...

Re: Ebay selling
Update - Ebay basically told me "We know this is annoying, however If the buyer has returned the item to you, please issue a refund" - but I haven't recieved the item back yet
Should I ask again later if it was sent? Maybe I should just refund them anyway, seems less hassle

Re: Ebay selling
I'd wait until the item is returned.
If it doesn't turn up inform eBay and ask for advice.
eBay is full of chancers and scammers.

Re: Ebay selling
The item still hasn't turned up, when I spoke to Ebay a few days ago on their customer service line, they said the buyer had violated their policy as they hadn't been in touch or opened a return case properly. I haven't heard from them for a while

Re: Ebay selling
Sounds like a scammer.
Ignore them until you hear anything further from eBay themselves.

Re: Ebay selling
Hey,
I heard back from the buyer of my DVD (Bruce Lee the Legend) asking for a refund and saying he'd been ill or something, I thought about responding but will speak to Ebay next week - it's almost 3 months since the DVD was sold!

Re: Ebay selling
I reported the buyer to Ebay and they said I could block him, as Ebay said they only allow a 30 day window to sort issues out. They said I hadn't done anything wrong and he should have responded in the right way and contacted them (Ebay) if there was a problem and sent me pictures of the broken DVD
I've reported and blocked him, only problem was I couldn't report him for the same issue as before (making a false claim)

Re: Ebay selling
For fucks sake! I'll never sell on eBay again.
In 2021 eBay forced me to start using Payoneer to get paid, as Paypal was no longer accepted. So I made an account. Got $45 from selling an item or two.
Then I took a 2 year break from selling as the COVID situation had made international shipping such as hassle.
Today I log in to my Payoneer account for the first time in 2 years and find all my money is gone, deducted as annual fees that had been introduced after my last log-in. Never received an email about these new fees. Turns out sometime after I opened my account they had introduced an annual feel of $29.95 for inactive accounts, and later extended that charge to all accounts with less than $2.000 of annual transactions (*).
* It's hard to understand how it works, but people in some countries may (or may not) be excepted from this fee. All I know I'm not.
So thanks a lot fucking thieves. Closing my Payoneer account now before they steal more of my money.
