I need some help:
I'm looking for a decent DVD edition of Jackie Chan's Thunderbolt.

AFAIK the best one is the spanish one. However somebody on the ADVDG forum said it seemed to be OOP:
("does anyone have a line on where I can find the Spanish "Thunderbolt" disc? I ordered it from DVDGO, but they finally wrote back and said: "Sorry." ")

+ most of the chinese editions are OOP.

I guess I could buy the french dvd (which contains a cantonese track) but it's the 88-minute Miramax cut.

Can any of you guys answer the following questions:
-What has been cut in the Miramax print ?
-Is there any other version worth buying ?

Not much help I'm afraid, but AFAIK the Spanish DVD is the ONLY one worth buying. The rest are pretty shit in one regard or another.

I don't know of cuts made to the Miramax version. I've seen the film uncut with their logo (it was on TV a few times in the UK).

Try e-mailing them. They managed to get me "Tesis" even though it had just gone OOP and DVD Go no longer sold it.

THUNDERBOLT spanish version is great, and surley someone out there will stuill have many copies about

one day it may get a real dvd release in an english speaking country or maybe not as its been burried for 10 years, why let it out now!

tom are you sure the french dvd is cut ? the funny dvd is 1:50 and the french 1:46 i was thinking it was due to ntsc/pal speedup

I'm getting more and more confused

jackiechanssx.com has the back cover of the french dvd and I can clearly read the following running time: 1h28m. (88mins).
On the same page it's written that the running time is 1:46:14 (106mins).

Is the cover wrong ?

In that case it would mean that I've been searching all over the world for a perfect edition while the french one was already perfect.

At DVDGO the DVD would have cost me 18£ (DVD+Shipping).
At TF1VIDEO.COM it's 4£ delivery included.

Is VeoVeo a secure shopping site and how do I get the English support up? I fancy getting the Spanish DVD of Snake In The Eagle's Shadow. It's the Columbia version with the benefit of PAL - and hopefully it's uncut!

The site lists the spanish DVD of Operation Condor as being in Spanish only but I've heard elsewhere that it has a Chinese language option. Any confirmation?

The site is only in Spanish, their e-mail support is in English. It was secure when I used them about 8 months ago.

Does the Spanish dvd of SITES have English subs?
I'm happy enough with my Mei Ah release.

According to the site, it has English subs and Chinese and English audio, plus subs for Spanish audiences. Sounds great!

Isn't there a decent HK DVD?

p.s - VeoVeo are often cheaper than DVD Go and are recommended. They don't charge a fortune for shipping either.

Indeed Thunderbolt was released in HK along with Rumble in the Bronx and Drunken Master 2 by Warner.

However those DVDs are completely useless to "non-cantonese speaking purists".
What I mean is that they have Cantonese, Mandarin, and DUBBED ENGLISH soundtracks but NO ENGLISH SUBS.

The only acceptable edition so far is the Spanish DVD.
(or the French one if you can read french subs).
