Does anyone have this edition? If so, how does it compare to the R2 UK/Eastern Heroes DVD? Strange that it has been under the radar although it was released just last year.

Judging by the clips on their own page...
We have... the wrong language (Mandarin), the wrong aspect ratio (cropped to 1.85), interlacing, and out of sync subs... apart from that it's clearly brilliant!

Haha, besides that though.
But word is that this edition is 5 min longer than other releases, which to me sounds alot like the Taiwanese version. It includes an alternate opening involving chickens (the use of bikes in the original HK print) and three additional scenes: an introductory scene featuring Lee Kwan and Don Wong Tao, Donnie Yen tricking a father and his kid in order to get food, and an extended fight scene with Yuen Cheung-Yan --- and, of course, dubbed in Mandarin.

Wow. Was that version ever available before?
Didn't the EH DVD have deleted scenes? Maybe thats what was on the DVD as extras

Yeah, the UK DVD has those scenes as extras. The source was an old Taiwanese VHS release.
