Will you be able to buy the remastered SE's seperately? Or are they only available in a big box set?
I'd love to have some of the older 60's films remastered. The prints really show their age but the 90's films (how could they make Goldeneye better for example?) may not need them IMO. Though I've heard all of the films will be remastered/cleaned up (except for Die Another Day).
I was wondering are they still likely to be censored (in the case of a couple of Brosnan films, Licence To Kill et al?)
What new editions are you talking about? Please remember to list your source.
I take it the extras will be the same? I doubt I'll bother GE, TWINE and TND are fine IMO. I'd imagine if they were censored before they still will be.
MGM are supposed to be releasing "Ultimate Editions" in the Autumn with never-before-seen extras. Can't say I'm planning on buying these again... However rumours have suggested that MGM maybe trying to locate an uncut Licence to Kill. We'll see...
I'm sure they would be released this year, but DVD Talk suggest it won't be until late 2006 at the earliest, when Casino Royale hits cinemas.
I'd buy the early Connery films again for a new, remastered transfer at least. I'd like better commentaries as well instead of the naff moderated ones by some guy from the Ian Flemming society.
As for Licence to Kill, that would be something. It'll look odd having an 18 rated (in theory) Bond on the shelf But if they can source that, then the others can be uncut too (though I'm happy with GE/TND in their present form but LTK is annoying).
PS Brad, my apologies, I started a thread here about the same thing.
Many of the new extras have already been passed by the BBFC over the last few months... so these Ultimate Editions will happen... but whne is the question? I last read it would be Autumn this year. But maybe it'll be when Casino Royale comes out, which won't be for quite some time. Licence to Kill would still be a '15' even if uncut, so MGM don't have anything to worry about in that regard. I would also expect resumbmissions for Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies in their PG-13 versions. Will we ever see these uncut or the older censroed movies with footage restored? Unlikely I would have thought, but I'm sure the footage exists in MGM's vaults in the UK. SOMEONE is bound to have it on film.

I said the studios would probably (not confirmed obviously) resubmit the PG-13 versions of Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies. The uncut versions (which would've gotten a 'R' in the US) are less likely to be submitted.
What have the BBFC said? I'm only interested in TND which hasn't been re-submitted.
Nothing official. But under their dual category guideline it would be acceptable now to pass all these films as '15'. And the BBFC have indicated this wouldn't be a problem.
Older films (From Russia With Love, Goldfinger) would require vault searching to find uncut versions, that I'm sure still exist.
Err... last I heard all future MGM releases were cancelled. Due to the sale of their entire catalogue to Sony, which needed time to process everything...
Unless this is yet another case where there are different distributors in Europe than in the US...?

That seems a bit extreme... but you maybe right?

Oh you mean the fully uncut versions that the MPAA cut or would've cut. I see.
That would be sweet!
And the BBFC have indicated this wouldn't be a problem.
Where? Please.

I heard that but MGM are still releasing back catalogue titles so I conclude that's a load of bollocks.
