Hey,

after speaking with the admins here and getting a green light for posting, I wanted to tell you guys about my site, http://mydramalist.info.

I'm the administrator and owner of that site, and known there as hideki. The site itself allows users to make lists of Asian dramas, films or animations that they are watching, watched, or plan to watch (there are other statuses, too). It also contains a rather big database of almost 13k titles and 17k people. The site functions as an open database, where everyone can modify, correct, or add new information. The countries we currently list on the site are Japan, Korea, all the Chinese countries (China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore), as well as Thailand and Vietnam. We may add more countries in the future.

We're always looking for new people to use the site and help us keep up the high quality of the information and add new titles. We have a varied staff and we don't discriminate against new users -- everyone is invited to help, or if they're not interested, just to maintain their lists or chat on the forums.

The site itself is not commercial and has no advertisements. It's a conscious decision, because I'd like to keep it accessible for everyone (not only people with browsers which have adblockers, etc.). I fund it from my own pocket or from donations, or affiliate links. I wanted to make this point clear that I'm not trying to advertise it here to earn money or anything -- I would like to increase the site userbase and have more users of different backgrounds join the site. Most of our users right now watch typically dramas, which is not bad, but I'd also like to hear the voice and see the contribution of film lovers.

I developed myself the website in my personal time, and all of it was coded by me. I continue to work on my site and improve it in my spare time, so if there are things you don't like or bugs you found, you can always suggest them on the forums or report them, or just turn to me personally. We're really open about other people's ideas on how to make things better.

So, if you found this introduction interesting, you can check the website at http://mydramalist.info

Cheers,
hideki
