Directed by Zhang Yimou and starring Christian Bale. I'm amazed no one has brought this up already. It looks like the Western cinema release will be limited . Why? The Dark Knight Rises is out next year.

A Chinese movie about an uncommercial topic that half of the people have never heard of ?

Since when does any of that mean it gets a limited release? Plenty of foreign films get decent cinema release, not to the scale of Hollywood stuff but still decent. Many don't though.

I'm not sure I like the idea of it being mostly in English, going by the trailer. Would A: Chinese B: women and C: prostitutes be able to speak English so well back then?
