What if you've only seen one of the films?

1. Assault on Precinct 13 vs Halloween - I've not seen AOP13.
2. The Fog vs Escape from New York (1) - I've not seen EFNY.
3. The Thing vs Christine - I've not seen Christine and The Thing is only okay.
4. Starman vs Big Trouble in Little China
5. Memoirs of an Invisible Man vs In the Mouth of Madness - I think I've seen Memoirs of an Invisible Man.
6. Village of the Damned vs Escape from L.A. - I've not seen EFLA.

Serious? This is so easy...

1. Assault on Precinct 13 vs Halloween

2. The Fog vs Escape from New York

3. The Thing vs Christine

4. Starman vs Big Trouble in Little China

5. Prince of Darkness vs They Live

6. Memoirs of an Invisible Man vs In the Mouth of Madness

7. Village of the Damned vs Escape from L.A.

8. Vampires vs Ghosts of Mars

EDIT: Wait did I even get the concept right? Just pick the best out of each pair? Clear winners for each (with the exception of Starman vs. Big Trouble. The former is the better film, but the letter is a firm fan favourite...not to me though!)

I think so. That's how I read it. Mark's post is really wordy :D.

I remember In the Mouth of Madness being really good.

Your choice. I choose not to vote in the two rounds where I'd only seen one of the films, but felt no need to impose that rule on anyone else.

Yes. Real simple.

I guess we're done... unless anyone thinks I should wait for another 24 hrs? But then if people were going to vote I suppose they would have by now. Thanks to everyone who did. I know World Cup isn't the most exciting game in the forum universe but at least I'm trying... There's no point moaning about how dull a forum is and then not contributing anything yourself or not bothering when someone tries to start up a bit of fun. I chose Carpenter partly because his films are popular and widely seen by forum members and yet only four people bothered to vote. So why the lack of interest? Is it Carpenter? Is it the game itself? My idea was to hold a series of World Cups and create a list of Bullets official favourite films... but that obviously was me getting ahead of myself. I'll leave the round open another day (total 72 hrs) but for now only Game #5 is a draw and if the final result remains a draw I'm going with IMDB scores as extra time (seems as good a random poll as any in case of indecision).

1. Halloween vs The Fog
2. The Thing vs Big Trouble in Little China - Easy choice, probably my fave Carpenter film.
3. They Live vs In the Mouth of Madness - Again I've not seen They Live, so discount if need be.
4. Village of the Damned vs Vampires - Again I've not seen Vampires (it looks rubbish), so discount if need be.

Feel free to discount mine where I've only seen one film then.

I was surprised when no one commented that a film review I'd written is being published (this forum is full of people's film reviews after all), life can be weird.

No need. If you like a film you're entitled to vote for it. Just because I'm only voting where I've seen both films doesn't mean everyone has to follow suit. Needless to say one shouldn't place a vote for a film they didn't like. But that's just common sense. ;)

It's cool. I posted it on Facebook and here twice. Here:

https://www.bulletsnbabesdvd.com/forums/ ... start=5629
And here: https://www.bulletsnbabesdvd.com/forums/ ... start=5639

It's in this months edition of Artrocker magazine (out this Saturday). I've reserved my copy at Smiths (I've been told the only place it's sold). It's a small music magazine but they've got a film and book page. My mate's the Reviews Editor, I've been speaking to him about writing some film reviews and when I stayed over recently, he asked if I wanted to review it.

So I did. It's voluntary at the moment but it's something I'd like to get into professionally.
