Imaoka is quite an interesting pink director. I've seen his film Uncle's Paradise, which is a nice combination of good characters, grainy indie style seaside visuals, and wtf-factor (the film's climax takes place in hell). I missed Tasogare when it played in Helsinki (with Imaoka in person), but The Japan Times critic Mark Schilling
wrote "Calling it good for a pink film is like calling Yasujiro Ozu's Tokyo Monogatari (Tokyo Story) good for a home drama: though hardly a worldwide classic, it transcends its genre." I'd like to see Frong Song, too.
