Come on! You make such a big statement and cannot back it up at all? Gangs of New York is certainly flawed but it's not shit, parts of it are excellent. I've started you off, kind of. I can name plenty of good ones but it's your shit ones I'm interested in.

I've seen most of Scorcese's output and don't recall any 'shit' ones.

I love the way people think they have seen most of what he has made, go on IMDB and see how many he has made and how many you will never have seen more than a few that's for sure.

Are you seriously telling me, one minute you're sure Scorsese has had his hand in making a "sheer volume of shit" and you cannot actually come up with one example?

Both Pacino and De Niro have made shit films, I've not seen enough Pesci to be able to comment but Scorsese? Nope, of the ones I've seen, I cannot think of one.

Not counting his TV work, shorts and documentaries (as I've only seen The Last Waltz out of those, which is brilliant) then I've seen every Scorsese film except for The Last Temptation of Christ, The Age of Innocence, and Kundun and I've never seen a shit Scorsese film either.

Well I don't like Goodfellas, so that say a lot right there about his films for me in general considering that he is apparently one of the Greatetsetest Films Eva!!!

I like how you make it sound like the people who rate Scorsese as a filmmaker are illiterate idiots when you champion talentless hacks like Paul Anderson and Uwe Boll in all the forums you frequent whilst rarely ever bothering to proof read your own posts to make sure they actually sound coherent!

For the record I don't think anyone here thinks that Scorsese is the "greatest filmmaker", and while I don't think he's made any shit films he has coasted along making many "ok" films over the last 20yrs, ie: Cape Fear, Bringing Out the Dead and Shutter Island. Anyone who has made films in the class of King of Comedy, Raging Bull, The Last Waltz and Taxi Driver clearly has a worthwhile filmography though!

I thought Cape Fear was terrific (apart from the thumb-sucking scene).

That's it I think, none are shit. Taxi Driver, Raging Bull and Goodfellas are so good, I can forgive his lesser works. For me, his best work is Taxi Driver.

He is apparently one of the great directors or Goodfellas is apparently one of the great films ever? Which one did you mean?

Scorsese is a fine filmmaker but his movies while mostly technically excellent have little rewatch value for me.In fact,the only film of his i currently have is The Departed which i want to view again before selling on.

You have a point there. Most aren't "watch a lot" films. I still love the three I mentioned above though.
