Does any of the blu-ray releases of the Austin Powers videos feature the uncut UK/International version with every scene intact?
And does it have all the extras?

I think the only BD is the New Line Reg A release (in a boxset). I'd imagine it's still the PG-13 version. Optimum have the UK rights to the original AFAIK.

Is the 10th Anniversary (UK) DVD the UK/uncut version?

Probably. I have the first Pathe release. That's uncut and (I believe) better quality.

The UK DVDs are all the correct 2.35:1 and the longer European cut (rated 15 in The UK). The USA DVDs Open Matt 1.78:1 (maybe 1.85:1) and the shorter PG-13 cut.

The only BD is the USA one and the good news it looks like New Line have fixed the aspect ratio for the BD (rear cover saying 2.40:1, reviews says more likely 2.35:1) but no mention in any review what cut it is. I'm guessing it's still cut as there is mention of "Deleted Scenes". No review says what the deleted scenes entail, which is annoying as the UK DVDs also contain deleted scenes (but obviously less of them). I know the Christian Slater stuff was cut in America, pity as rather like that. I doubt any of the American reviewers knew they were watching a shorter cut. Best to assume it's still cut!

EIV have released Parts 2 and 3 on UK BD but as Mark says Opimum own Part 1 in The UK. No release date as yet. I guess it depends how much you want the longer cut. Personally I'd hold on to that DVD.

The film was shot in Super 35.

I dont know if there were longer cuts either, I just wanna be sure theres no cuts. But do the EIV BluRays contain all the extras?

It depends if those are from the USA or UK BD?

I think those captures look poor - where's the detail?!

It looks fine to me. Why? Because this is Austin Powers. It never had much detail to start with. Check out your details and watch how much detail is there, not much.

It looks sharper than the DVD. The New Line one is bound to look better but remember it's probably PG13 USA cut. So if I really wanted this on BD, I'd still get the UK BD. I wouldn't want a censored version.

Put it this way, when I first saw those screengrabs my initial response was either it had been DNR nuked or I needed to increase the prescription on my glasses! It's possible that Austin Powers never had a lot of detail to begin with being a 90s film, as we've seen a lot of 90s films drifting in and out of softness/sharpness in HD, but all the screengrabs exhibit a distinct lack of detail and not much in the way of texture to the print.
