World Cup Qualifiers! (England v N. Ireland/Azerbaijan)

Post by grim_tales »

Here is the England squad that will play against N. I on Saturday and Azerbaijan on Wednesday What do you think? IMO this is 6 easy points, but I don't know why Becks continues to play? He hasn't had a decent game for England for ages and was shite in Euro 2004
Doesn't deserve to wear the Captain's armband!

Who is Andy Johnson? :? Owen has been crap for England lately but you can't fault Rooney (alright you can, amazing player but he can't control his temper and acts like an arse at times  ).

Heskey's back, bloody hell... nice to see Lampard there though

Here they are (taken from the BBC Football site):

England squad:
Goalkeepers: David James (Manchester City), Paul Robinson (Tottenham Hotspur), Robert Green (Norwich City).

Defenders: John Terry (Chelsea), Rio Ferdinand (Manchester United), Ledley King (Tottenham Hotspur), Jamie Carragher (Liverpool), Ashley Cole (Arsenal), Gary Neville (Manchester United), Wes Brown (Manchester United), Phil Neville (Manchester United).

Midfielders: Stewart Downing (Middlesbrough), Owen Hargreaves (Bayern Munich, Germany), Joe Cole (Chelsea), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool) Frank Lampard (Chelsea), Kieron Dyer (Newcastle United), Jermaine Jenas (Newcastle United), David Beckham (Real Madrid, Spain).

Forwards: Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Andy Johnson (Crystal Palace) Michael Owen (Real Madrid, Spain), Jermain Defoe (Tottenham Hotspur), Emile Heskey (Birmingham City).

Your thoughts? :D

Andy Johnson is the second top scorer in the premier league!! discounted the purchases of heskey and yorke for a moment the worst decision bham city have made since getting into the premiership is selling andy johnson.

he isnt a wonder kid, but he is still pretty young and has got consistantly better in the last few years. in 2-3 years he'll be playing for one of the top 5 clubs. in 5 years people will be talking about him as if he was the new shearer.. mark my words :d

as for Beckham,he's a good captain because none of his teammates is mean enough to tel the simple lad to f off!! :D plus shaun wright phillips is still a year or two off being properly ready for internationals ;)
