That teaser doesn't look too interesting, and having WB on board isn't exactly good news either, but lets hope for the best.

Schilling bashes the film:

Can't wait to see Outrage, but I'm a bit afraid of trying it without subs. Seems a bit dialogue heavy...

Kitano’s return to yakuza cinema pales in comparison to his 90’s classics, but marks major improvement over his more recent output. The ultra-cool, stone cold film is yakuza cinema at its purest – violence, black cars, black suits, and terrific minimalist black humor – to the extent of almost becoming genre satire. The humanism of Kitano’s older films is missing here – as is most of the storyline. While complicated and challenging the audiences with the sheer amount of characters (“They’re all bad guys”, as the tagline states) the film isn’t much more than a repetitive series of violent yakuza encounters. That’s not necessarily a bad thing when executed with such slickness.

Kitano's next film will be Outrage 2

Thanks! Looking forward to the UK BD. Hope it is gonna be uncut. The cover art matches the BD release of 'Scarface'.
As for the Japanese cover art, it might work in Japan, because people there might actually know the actors on the cover. In the UK you'll be lucky to find someone who knows Beat's face.

That massive quote of 'ULTRAVIOLENT' will secure it many sales, everyone seems to be into that shit nowadays.

The Scandinavian artwork is thankfully much better than the UK one (although not as good as the JP)

Real bad US trailer:

I don't know how the business works... but why on earth is the US release coming out a year after the English subbed Blu-Rays from HK and JP (both region A)... basically everyone who had the slightest interest in the film has seen it twice by now. Surely they could have made much more money by releasing it last year?

JP BD & DVD release date: April 12, 2013
No mention of subs so far (a bit surpising since every single Kitano movie since Hana-Bi has had subs on Japanese DVDs and BD's).

They kind of missed the point by not making the third film OUTRAGE 3D but oh well, they can still follow it up with:
Outrage: A New Beginning (2018)
Outrage: Otomo Lives (2019)
Outrage: The New Blood (2020)
Outrage: Otomo Takes Manhattan (2021) (this would be a chance to make a tie-in with the BROTHER universe)
Otomo Goes to Hell: The Final Outrage (2025)
Otomo X (2033)
Zatoichi vs. Otomo (2035)
