Cracker - Brotherly Love

Post by Markgway »

Did the original uncut version of this story come out on DVD anywhere? The first episode (of three) ran 10-15 mins longer than the standard version on its premiere. The edits were made later so that repeat screenings could fit into a 1-hr time slot (back when News At Ten was an issue) but it seems that the UK DVDs (and probably others) are taken from this abridged master.

Yes, it was. Most of the stories were excellent. Only a couple were disappointing.

:o :o

Robbie Coltrane was phenomenal and the stories were nearly always gritty, dark and real.

Fuck's sake Romero. That's out of order.

The Americans didn't even like the American version better.

Well as no one watched the American series, I doubt many on here did either.

I watched the first one (I think it was a remake of True Romance) and it was clearly inferior.

I don't know of any British show that has an American remake, Romero prefers the British original. He's biased to Yank shows.

I think you're missing a "where" in the middle of that statement brad, edit it now before people start slagging you off for saying you don't know of any British show that has an american remake! :D
