Anyone heard of this?

My HMV is selling a few of them for £79.99 (sale price).

I noticed the remote is basically the same design as my Tevion.

Could it be multi-region?

Richer Sounds were doing a blu-ray with DVD multi-region (Sony BDP360) for £99.99.

Or are you talking about blu-ray multi region?

BD multi-region.

DVD multi is quite common now.

Is it exactly the same remote? If so, it sure could be.

I've never heard of it. I saw a BD Player in my local Sainsburys for £90 but obviously not MR anything. I think it was Philips.

Does it "on-board" decode DTS-HD and TrueHD? Or just Bitstream them.

The Tevion is ace-i have 2.

Supports separated HD audio (PCM Stereo, PCM 5.1 Channel, PCM 7.1 channel, Bitstream HD which can include DD+, TrueHD and DTS-HD) through HDMI

this player is multi-region,unfortunately the price has gone up,it was £80 the other week.

So not on-board then. It's by no means a dealer breaker, just so I know. At this price-point I wasn't expecting it. Bitstream is easy but on-board takes much more processing power.

How would you compare it to your PS3 for performance, reliability and features Salty?

Well up to now i've not encountered a problem,all discs have played fine and PQ is comparable to the PS3. Having hooked it up to my new Onkyo the HD audio is awesome.i've got one in the main room and one in the bedroom(replaced the hd-dvd player) it's an incredible bargain.they are still available in certain Aldi stores apparently.

My usa ps3 died a few months back.sold it for spares or repair on ebay,got £70.My son uses his uk one in his room for movies,i stick with the two tevions.

I'm tempted but I've no need for it. When my LG HD Combo Player dies, I'll likely get a Panasonic BD Player.

A Poster claims over at avforums then entering 973500 on this machine enables playback of any region BD/DVD without having to enter the codes manually each time.

That would be cool. Have you had a chance to try it? Personally I find it hard to believe but you never know.

don't have this player Brad,i have the Tevion.having said that,at £50 i think i'll get one as a back up.At that price you can never have enough blu-ray!

I thought we established they were the same, no?

Pity more people don't appreciate/care what multiregion means, as that price is fantastic. I have no use for one.
