I have not seen the film, I am talking about the CGI crapness trailer.

He cannot make good films anymore, and is a smug bastard to boot, Burton should be stopped from making films and take Danny sodding Elfman with him

Sweeeney Todd was ok but hardly fantastic imo. The fims he does with Depp have become very predictable.

Tim Burton is in the 'meh' category for me. The movies I have seen of him, some had great moments in them, and some I think are very good (Sleepy Hollow, Ed Wood), but many also have severe weaknesses in them, like overacting, weird costumes.

How so?

Edward Scissorhands is brilliant. Batman 1 and 2 haven't aged well and Planet of the Apes is merely okay (it's not a patch on the original) but otherwise I've loved all his films. Sleepy Hollow is embarrassingly poor. My Mum laughed all the way through it, unintentionally.

I love Burton, on the whole:

Beetlejuice - absolute classic. Loved that film.
Batman - very good film. Very enjoyable.
Edward Scissorhands - Good film, not particularly my taste, but my ex- loved it.
Batman Returns - not so good. Compared to the next two though it was a masterpiece still.
Ed Wood - quite funny, and a decent film, but not great.
Mars Attacks - awesome. Slow to get going, but hilarious.
Sleepy Hollow - I really liked this one! Thought it was dark, funny and entertaining.
Big Fish - imaginative, entertaining, weird, but again enjoyable.
Charlie and Chocolate - Again weird, quirky but again enjoyable. I liked this!
Corpse Bride - hmmm, dark but not that great. Predictable and not long lasting.
Sweeney Todd - really enjoyed this, and I generally dislike musicals.

Those are the only ones I've seen, and on the whole I do think his dark take on things is great. So with that view on his films I'm really looking forward to Alice....
