It amazes me everyone doesn't use Dave's Trailer Page. The Apple website and You Tube is shite by comparison. It takes 1-2 minutes to download the 480p/720p/1080p files.

On the one hand this look great but on the other I get so bored of "American, Hung-go, we're the best, we can save the world" Hollywood movies.

Americans are so bloody patriotic (to the point I'm sure they'd all jump off a cliff if their President told them so) and masturbate over their country so much, it just gets ridiculous. They love to slap each other on the back and say how great their country is, when most don't even have a flipping passport.

In short, not one for me.

p.s - Don't get me wrong I equally have great respect for America and what it has achieved in such a short space of time, find the people genuinely very friendly (often more so than Brits) and always enjoy myself when I visit. I plan have a holiday in America in June/July in fact. Then India in the Autumn.

But yeah, overly sugar-coated films do make me gag. Try comparing Paul Greengrass' United 93 to that Oliver Stone twin towers film, for example. (TBH, that twin towers film was REALLY out of character for Stone. Normally he'd film sensibilities would be comparable to Greengrass').

Saving Private Ryan is a definitely a well-made, influential landmark film (especially the visceral Omaha Beach landing), but FFS the script was utterly contrived, manipulative tripe. "WE CAN'T THIS LET WOMAN GRIEVE OVER THE LOSS OF ALL FIVE OF HER SONS!" Oh and that scene where they show the elderly Pvt. Ryan standing over Tom Hanks' grave, shedding a tear, fuck me. 'Nuff said.

. Like most I have an equal love-hate relationship with America. You're a liar if you say you outright dislike America, we all go to see American movies and millions love MacDonalds but equally there is a lot wrong with said country.

Their completely and utterly blind devotion to the gun being one example, not releasing that it creates all the ridiculous amount of mass killings each year, most even thinking their gun culture makes them safer, never even daring to discuss the matter seriously in congress.

That was an odd choice for Stone. I didn't bother to see it, as it looks as dull as dishwater.

Exactly. I have a lot of respect for that film but the second half didn't half turn into the usual Spielberg schmaltz-fest.

Strange Days is easily Bigelow's best work. Looking at IMDB, she's not made many great movies.

Strange Days was very good. Juliette Lewis was slutty in it though. Though she was pretty (in a slutty way) if that makes sense.
