Film category icons?

Post by IronMonkey »

Hi guys.

I want to update my XBMC installation so that when I browse my server PC for films, I get icons for the different categories, i.e. Horror, Drama, Thriller, Action, etc.

At the moment it just shows up as a list of folders with those titles, but I want to spruce it up a bit with icons.

I've tried a Google search for "film category icons", but all it brings back are the usual icons based on certain films, such as Batman, Aliens, etc.

Do you know of any sites which would provide icons for the different categories? I mean, like a knife for horror, a gun for action, things like that. But I want them all to be of the same theme so that they match.

Also, I'm not bothered what format they're in as I have Photoshop CS3 to convert them to the format I need (.tbn).

Thanks!

Can be pretty expensive, but have you tried a stock image website, for example: Shutterstock. just do a search for film icons/genres.

Here's one hit.

Can't you make them yourself!?

I havent looked into it or anything, but if you want a knife for horror, just google a knife, use photoshop to make a cut-out, add some blood-drops as a background, et voila...

Well yes I can make them myself but I figured somebody else would have already made what I'm looking for & I don't really have the time to spend on it. Its just a little thing that I'd like to have to make my XBMC look a bit nicer - I don't want to spend hours making icons for it.

Thanks Shingster, I'll have a look on Shutterstock.
