I didn't know this was out. Thanks Salty for providing caps when ill. A few question please:
1. What's cut? I've seen that IMDB link but it contradicts itself with two sets of different cuts.
2. I presume it's Cantonese Mono and in sync?
3. How does it compare to the Fortune Star IVL?
If this is better or roughly the same as the FS IVL I may still get this, not if it's much worse though. As said previously I only own a DVD-9 bootleg.
Is there a legal reason why DD keep using Dimension cuts?
p.s - If time codes can be provided I'll post captures for the Fortune Star IVL. It's a copy but a DVD-9 one so a direct copy.
The fortune star ivl was uncut but the mono was out of sync. The DD DVD's Cantonese track is said to slow down the song at the end. Can you comment on this, Salty?

but I guess you're more intelligence than me.
Dimension's levels look better (blacks aren't blue, reds aren't over-saturated - DD has purplish forced-red look because of it), but DD is generally pleasing because it's far sharper. Just a case of whether the frames are a problem. I wonder if the subtitles were re-translated. Either way, unless people like the Dimension version, this one's only worthy because of the extras - curiously, I wonder how the Cantonese soundtrack sounds compared to Deltamac's DVD or the LD's respected PCM track.
Also the Spectrum caps (both FS-sourced DVDs are different - as if FS put their master through a re-grading and damage removal scheme).
Spectrum probably has better contrast and colours when Joy Sales looks as if it was obnoxiously reddened and re-compressed (if it's an IVL re-issue, it could explain the re-compression).
I've tried my best to match captures. I was unable to find the frame Salty used for Frame 2.
Salty can you please use the frame before or after a scene change in future please. It makes it so much easier to match frames. As usual I used VirtalDubMOD. What software did you use Salty? That needs to be taken into account when comparing.
Where is the first capture in the film? The one looking like Jackie's head has exploded. I cannot find it.

The DD looks like the best one, although I suspect it's been contrasted boosted. I'm also not sure how accurate it is, given that Salty probably used something like PowerDVD.
What's cut from the R1? I've seen that IMDB link but it contradicts itself with two sets of different cuts.
Thanks Brad. Well, it's not a straight-forward one.
IVL's looks more cooler and subdued and with any instances of hot colours, there's an overall yellow tint to it and the contrast looks a bit weak compared to the contrast-boosted DD.
Colour-wise, Dimension still outranks any of them, but it's still non-anamorphic and softer.
Capture 1: Dragon Dynasty would have been the winner had it not been saturated as much.
Capture 2: Dimension is the best coloured, but after that, I'd go for IVL as DD's colour is off.
Capture 3: Dragon Dynasty would have been the winner if it wasn't as pinked.
Capture 4: I'd be happy to award IVL. Dimension follows closely, whilst DD looks over-saturated.
I prefer the DD due to it's stronger colours but am very dubious about this as it's clearly been contrasted boosted, still the IVL does look weak. Overall I'll probably stick with my IVL. Sure it's a bootleg but it's a direct DVD-9 copy so the same as the original.

Thanks. How is it placed into the film? Is it sometime of montage?

Thanks Salty. Can you add my captures please.
Does that add any effects/alterations of it's own?

Hmm, possibly they did indeed do a small bit of montage but with inverted colours. Have only vague memories of it. Nothing appears before it and when it's done, Jackie pulls up on his motorcycle.
