Highs/lows of 2008!?
What have been your highs and lows of 2008?
For me, apart from a few deaths (most of which I didnt even kill myself), it's been a relatively good year.
Seen good movies (Flash Point, KF panda, Wall-E, The Dark Knight etc), played good games (GTA4), health seems to have improved a little, and had a very nice and long vacation in Hong Kong.
We had lots of sports on TV this year. we had the Edison scandal which was fun for everyone who wasnt directly involved. Obama winning the presidency, and McCain making a constant ass of himself.
Negatives: on a personal level, I am disappointed that creatively I've hit a bit of a stand-still. The motivation to do stuff is pretty damn low. It;s like I can think of a billion thinks to do in my head, but actually MAKING it just seems like a hassle when I can already see the finished thing in my head. It's kinda like it already exists, and I dont have a need to also actually make it. So yeah, that's a problem.
I should probably find a forum where people are inspiring other people to create new stuff all the time. I guess I'll make that a new years resolution for 2009.
Anyway, how was your 2008?

pretty dismal really...against my better judgement resumed a long standing (platonic) friendship with a lady friend and spent most of the year helping her with her problems only to come to the realisation that she is still a selfish, heartless user of people ... plus a cousin of mine died yesterday, fucking xmas eve..good footballer in his day as well...

Sad to hear about your loss, John. You have my condolences.
Personal lows:-
-Lost my job in August (made redundant), am still unemployed.
General highs of 2008:-
-Bush is gone. The most powerful country in the world is now being run by someone whom doesn't seem to be an idiot, nor someone wanting to decimate developing world nations out of greed.
General lows:-
-The global recession. Fallen NZ dollar.

Sorry to hear about your cousin Salty, just want to echo the sentiments from earlier and hope you have a good 2009.
2008 has been a good year for me after 2 rough years before, i'll also be turning 30 very soon so will have to see in 2009 no longer as a twenty-something. Can't say Ive ever been hung up on age though, but some of my m8s who turn 30 this year are already sweating over it!
Tiger: I'm gonna try and catch you on Xbox live playing COD:4 in 2009, your stats for that game are fucking insane btw!!

Was gonna type up a list of films I enjoyed this year and the worst ones too, but in short the best film of the year for me was Burn After Reading, and the worst was sadly Doomsday. Most disappointing was Tropic Thunder - not nearly as funny as I was hoping.

2008 has been a good year
New job with a great boss and higher salary, but most importantly . . .
Obama won!
There just might be hope for my country yet.
