War, war never changes.

Post by EvaUnit02 »

Fallout 3 is out this week, I hope that my copy arrives before the weekend. Anyone else looking forward to it? I've been waiting for a meaty Western RPG/"Immersive Sim" to dig my teeth into since playing the fantastic Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines earlier this year.

Reportedly it feels a lot like an Oblivion Total Conversion at times, but as I've never played an Elder Scrolls game that shouldn't be a problem.

I'll play through the vanilla game once and then again in a few months time, once modders have fixed Bethesda's questionable design decisions and/or console tard panderings.

I'm KINDA looking forward to it. Been following the news ever since it has been announced, and now it's finally done and it seems to live up to the hype.

Not sure which version to get. The PS3 is supposedly less impressive than the 360 version, and the PC version supposedly blows them both out of the water. I'm kinda thinking about connecting my PC to my FullHD plasma, once I have it, and then playing games like this through the PC instead of through a console. Still kinda seeing how that would work though.

I wish stores here would get games early.

I'm gonna buy a PS3 plus 2 free games for 360 euro this week (relatively good bargain), but because of that muslim-complain-nonsense with LBP, that game got postponed and the bargain is only till the end of this week :(

But now I'm figuring out which game to choose with the PS3 (1st game was a choice of 6 'platinums', so that kinda limits my choices to Resistance and Heavenly Sword), and the 2nd game I can pick any game I want. Maybe Quantum of Solace hits the stores early so that could be a nice buy, but other than that I have no clue as to what game to buy.

Bioshock I'd rather buy for the 360 (as that's only 20 euro now), Far Cry 2 is supposedly much better on PC, and the other must-haves I kinda already have, or there are better versions out for the other system.

Kinda limits my choice to Pro Evo 2009, Fifa09, NHL09, Midnight Club LA, and that's pretty much it.
I really wish Eternal Sonata and/or Disgaea would have been released here in Europe for the PS3 :( That would make the choice a bit easier.

Folklore is hands down one of the best titles on PS3. Fantastic game.

Uncharted is supposed to be fairly good. It reportedly has the dressings and energy of an 80's adventure comedy like Romancing the Stone, the platforming/puzzle solving from Tomb Raider and the combat from GoW.

You don't want to buy Far Cry 2 for the PC, for the same the reasons why you wouldn't buy Spore. Evil, evil DRM that violates all basic consumer expectations for a piece of software. Pirates have a much better end-user experience than paying customers.
The only valid protest is to not play the PC versions at all - you don't buy them, nor do you pirate them. One pirates the Xbox 360 version - the console market is by far the most profitable, this is where you should hurt these cunting publishers.

Don't buy Resistance or Motorstorm brand new. They can be picked up extremely cheaply 2nd hand, since literally every bought those games.

Quantum of Solace will be in the bargain soon, it's more or less a Bond mod for Call of Duty 3 with a cover system tacked on.

Dont worry about me BUYING pc-games, Eva, AAARrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!
NO DRM crap and all that for me, thank you.

The PS3 'bargain' means I will have to pick at least 1 of the platinum games. I already have the 2 best ones (ratchet, and Uncharted), and I was thinking about buying Heavenly Sword, but after reading a bunch of reviews, I guess I'm better off with Resistance: FOM. Folklore doesnt really impress me, from what I've seen so far. Motorstorm I will not bother with.

Anyway, it will come FREE with my PS3, so no big loss if I dont end up loving it.

The really hard choice is between what full-price PS3 game to choose. I already have MGS, and sadly LBP comes out NEXT week :( (otherwise, that would have been a no-brainer)

It's pretty much between Fifa09 and Pro Evo 2009. Dont know which other games would be worth picking up, that dont have better/cheaper versions out on 360...
