Anyone heard of this?
It looks like the film is in the same style as the Lone Wolf and Cub films (but more serious). Bisc you may want to check it out.

Yep. I have the french dvd.
Very dark chambara, very violent.
Very slow at times, but the ending makes up for it.
I actually prefer Sword of Doom to the Lone Wolf and Cub series.
Definately one of the greatest samurai movies ever.

Sounds good then.

Whats the quality of the French DVD like? The Criterion will probably be better for me though
I'd been meaning to get some other Lone Wolf and Cub movies.

Whats the quality of the French DVD like?
-Fully restored from a copy of the original master. 8)
-Nice and clean mono japanese soundtrack.
-Very accurate french subs.
I can't ask for more, really.

The Criterion uses a restored, anamorphic HD transfer too, plus "improved English subtitle translation" 8)
