I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

Does this still completely fabricate the truth, so Americans can continue to live in their little bubble that is known as The United States?

Let me guess...
You're still upset because you got whupped by a bunch of farmers with pitchforks over 200 years ago.

Cheer up, Brad. It wasn't the first time this happened.
Remember Hastings?

Except that's not what happened. The Patriot is completely made up. In truth the British government had little interest in America, didn't send "that" many men and only after they lost did they realise what they'd lost. Which led to Canada and later Australia being given much more autonomy. Again contrary to what The Patriot makes you think the American people (who still considered themselves British) only wanted more autonomy, they certainly weren't asking for freedom, that came much later.

The British Empire had to lose America to save the rest of the British Empire, the model used in Canada was later used throughout the rest of The Empire. Until we really got our asses whipped in the 1950s-1960s :D.

Normally I wouldn't mind (cue both Elizabeth films) but for some reason it bothers me here.

Besides as Mark said, the French didn't exactly do well in North America either ;). How many States in North America speak French? Hmm. let me see, not many.

The one that really got my goat was Braveheart, which implied (ok stated) that the English royalty descended from a bastard born of a rebel and a noblewoman who in reality was a toddler at the time. Nice music though
