Hmm... whoever thought of this is going to have to make it really special to make it worth my upgrading... :? IMO there's no reason to re-release this at all. The plain grey cover sucks ass too. :( Again, the tone of the R1 (mostly black) is better.

I have the R1 2 disc set that I bought ages ago, which has good extras (including the excellent Japanese TV Making Of), for all we know that could just be the 2 disc set with the Soundtrack CD, or extra gubbins like a film cell (a la the Monty Python & The Holy Grail "SE") a pointless release when the old, old 2 disc SE was perfectly fine. So IMO they can just piss off.

Nice find Grim. Do you work for Play? :D

I may pick this up depending on what's on disc 3. Isn't the R1 the best all rounder? I would've picked it up by now but it's still to expensive (over a tenner).

I really need to give the film a second chance.

The R1 has much more extras and I believe better picture quality.

D'oh :D Yeah you're right the R1 has more extras. (Is the R2 missing the Japanese TV special?) Also IIRC the R1 used film as its source and the R2 used video? :?

Actually the R4 2-disc SE from Madman is superior. It has a Japanese DTS 5.1 track, and all the extras (most notably the superb Japanese Making Of and the storyboard comparisons) of the R1 except the gushing Di$ney crap:- "Behind the Mic" dub featurette and "Paul Lasseter Intro". Not plagued by red tint either. Madman recently re-released it in a standard amaray case.

I got the 2 disc LE of that Oz release... and I'm keeping that one! Unless something monumentally better comes along and at a cheap price!

Considering it's OOP I didn't bother to mention it :D

I seriously doubt they've sourced enough extras to fill a third disc.
