I hated every second of Ong-Bak, but this one might be a different (better?) film.

Thanks to LostDragon for the heads-up. :)

I wouldn't go quite that far but it is pretty damn poor.

Is LD still in denial about his love for me? I cannot think of any other reason why he's still hiding about his pram :D.

Thanks Tom, and LD ;). I'm sure you're still lurking out there.

Crikey it actually looks pretty damn good, much better than Ong-bak/TYG. I really hope they've attempted a decent screenplay this time though, as both Ong-Bak and TYG were so poor, it killed the film.

I wouldn't say that promo reel looks terrible but like tiger cage I'm not impressed. :( I'm still hopeful though that the action's going to be top-notch and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for an English subtitled region 3 DVD.

Tony Jaa has a good cry!!

From Twitch

http://twitchfilm.net/site/view/tony-ja ... ong-bak-2/

The very strange saga of Tony Jaa and his disappearance from the set of Ong Bak 2 appears to have come to a tearful end. Two months after disappearing from the set of his latest martial arts picture - one which the young Jaa is directing as well as starring in - and after very public mud slinging about finance, not to mention the bizarre reports that Jaa spent the past months in a cave practicing black magic, Jaa appeared on Thai TV yesterday, making his first public appearance since this all began.

Accompanied by his lawyer - an interesting choice, that - Jaa broke down in tears as he denied the black magic rumors and stated his desire to return to the film and complete it as its director. Now, crying in public is really not the sort of thing action stars are supposed to do - can you imagine Stallone breaking down in the middle of an interview? - but in this case I really can’t do much but feel bad for Jaa. He was cautioned against directing this project himself by a host of older, more experienced professionals and his refusal to listen was one of the factors that killed Jaa’s relationship with Ong Bak director Prachya Pinkaew. Clearly he was just not ready for the day to day challenges of directing a film, particularly not a big budget one - huge budget by Thai standards - in which you are also starring. He’s a very sincere man, one very conscious of how he presents both himself and Thai culture in general and this very public humbling has got to be hard for him to swallow ...

Fearless, Ong-Bak and TYG all had no English subs on HK DVD. At least with the initial release.

A decent version is bound to come along sooner or later.

Cine-asia (UK) for example haven't (yet) bothered to create their own score. So whilst DD may release it with a rapper re-score, if Cine-asia pick it up it's likely to be left alone. Just an example, that it's likely the stuff up of Ong-Bak is unlikely to happen again. TYG (despite it's re-title) was left well alone too, at least in the UK.

At least Magnolia are unlikely to fuck this one up, unlike last time.
